Weten jullie goede films in 't Nederlands? Ik weet alleen "Rent a friend" en "Maidentrip".

Yesterday I tried duolingo. Specifically, I tried out the Dutch course on the android duolingo app. I did three lessons before giving up. I really don't like the robotic voice they got going on for their Dutch course, _or_ her accent... she sounds like a German robot speaking Dutch.

Algún día me gustaría estudiar sueco "mas seriamente".

Ok, that makes sense. What about the je/jouw thing?

Also, what if I want to put extra emphasis on "ik" in the original sentence? Is
stress/tone the only way in that case or can I do it through word order?

Put "Ik" up front, but I would stress ik using tone anyways

Dank je wel allemaal!

Oggi ho imparato a dire De rijst van m'n vriendin is uitstekend, Ik hou van je rijst eten and the possible joke Ik hou van jouw... rijst eten.

Ho fatto la domanda Weten jullie goede films in 't Nederlands?

Non ho piu di opportunita di parlare l'olandese, so I take whatever opportunity I can get.

The first time I started studying Dutch in 2011, I was using Teach Yourself Dutch, Anki, mijnwoordenboek.nl, and I consulted this very forum and a few Dutch acquaintances from youtube. Now I've added a book called Essential Dutch Grammar. It's a very short and to the point grammar written by Henry R. Stern and published by Dover in 1984.

I also have a small paper dictionary but mijnwoordenboek is so good I never have to use it. These days, as opposed to back in 2011, mijnwoordenboek also has a pronunciation key for entries using phonetic transcription, which is great for me.

I have also joined a couple Facebook groups for learners. Now all that remains is to work on the language every day if I can manage, and look in the mirror and say veel succes!

Ik hou van talen dat mooi klinkt. En 't Nederlands klinkt erg mooi.

Vandaag: In 't Engels een telefoon klinkt "ring!". In 't Spaans klinkt "rin!". In 't Italiaans klinkt "drin!". In 't Nederlands klinkt "preng!". Or does it? Everybody who replied on my question regarding this on facebook disagreed. For Dutch alternatives, I got "ring", "tring", "dring" and even "piep", "ping" and "tuut", but several denials of the existance of "preng". To be sure, I got it off a song by De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig, who are known for wordplay, so who can say. Their song "Get Spanish" is all kinds of hilarious, especially for people who know Dutch, Spanish and English.

I turned off the sound on Duolingo and did a Dutch lesson. At this stage I can use all the vocabulary acquisition I can get, no matter where I get it from. I also did a few Swedish ones voor de lol, with the sound turned on. Duolingo is exceedingly slow on my browser, which is a pain, but pretty slick on the android tablet.

On Facebook I posted on one of the groups:

Hallo allemaal!

On two other groups I changed the last sentence to

and

Prima, dank je, en tot straks :)

It's always a good idea to add a smilie at the end. I might speak troglodiet Nederlands at this stage, but at least I'm smiling and being nice.

Finally, I'll make use of this occasion to bring up my policy regarding corrections. I welcome and encourage any and all corrections. Prima, dank je wel, en tot ziens!

Hoi getreallanguage,

gekozen? Alleen omdat jij de taal mooi vindt? Of anders?

No
