I'm so excited. Now I've got the complete set of 24 "Matador" episodes on DVD, with subtitles in Danish, English, Norwegian and Swedish! After spending hours on the dr.dk website struggling in vain to comprehend the first episode without subtitles, I'm at last poised to follow Crown Princess Mary's lead and learn Danish via "Matador".
There's only one problem. I feel compelled to read aloud the twenty-something books in German I own, but haven't read yet. That's not a problem in and of itself, but my extreme OCD tunnel vision one-track mind brain will only allow me to (over)do one thing at a time, so I know better than to attempt a simultaneous all-out attack on both Danish and German. Instead, my new idea is to make watching Danish DVDs a reward for successful German book completion. If I finish reading a German book aloud, I'll allow myself to watch an episode of "Matador" or one of my Danish movies. I realize this will relegate my Danish learning from the intensive, thorough approach I had hoped to implement to one of "la, la, la, I'm watching TV", but I figure that's better than nothing.
Damn. I thought for sure German would have turned me loose by now.

Den indeholdt bl. a.

Hi AlOlaf, hope you can help me. I'd like to have information about the Danish courses you're using.
As I'm learning German too (I'm just at intermediate level, though) I noticed there is a number of German-based Danish courses, but I can't figure out which one you think it's the best, which one the most compehensive or the most suitable for a beginner. You seem to be switching all the time :)
What about Dänisch mit System? And what about Assimil Dänisch ohne Mühe? What about Hueber courses? They offer a course called "Einstieg dänisch" which leads you to A1 level, with a vocabulary of only 500 words, but has 20 lessons and 150 minutes of audio files to listen to, which makes me think it could be very suitable for a total beginner who has to deal for the first time with the challanging Danish pronunciation. And Vi snakkes ved?
Thank you for the info.
