Hello everyone!
It is time that I start a log where I can track my daily progress and feel a sense of
achievement.
My main focus is on French and my resources are as follows:
Assimil New French with Ease
Duolingo
Hugo in three Months
I have completed till lesson 6 in Assimil.
Level 8 in Duolingo, and will complete the skill "Time" by tomorrow.
Revising Lesson 1 in Hugo.
I still can't choose which to learn Mandarin or Japanese, but I am dabbling with both.
Mandarin resources I am using: A Key to Chinese Speech and Writing. A wonderful book!
Japanese resources : Going over the lessons given to me by my tutor nine years ago.
Thanks for bearing with me.

Thanks for the encouragment. Certainly its interesting to study the three togeether.
Although I feel like dropping self-study in Japanese and take Japanese classes.
Update:
French : Duolingo : Verbs Infinite : 2/6 done
Hugo : Studying Lesson 2
Mandarin: Learnt Sequence 1.4. Practicing characters, but I keep forgetting the tone of
each word.

No Mandarin study today. Can anyone recommend a good dictionary for Mandarin? What about
the Oxford Beginners one?

Wow, it looks like we're both learning using the same resources! In fact, if you pick up French in Action, and I start
on Duolingo, we'll be following the same regimen ;)
I'm currently on Week 2 in Hugo, and Lessons 12-14 in Assimil
Bonne chance!

Thank you so much Raconteur about FIA. I had forgotten about it but for you help. I am
going to watch the third lesson today in Youtube. :)
Your Assimil progress looks great, whereas I am still stuck at lesson 9 because I am
hardly getting time and my life is bogged down by exams right now.
Do you like opera? I recently watched a musical scene from a French opera called Faust
by Charles Gounod. It is a scene featuring a musical between the devil Mephistopheles
and Marguerite, Faust's lover, pleading for her lover's soul to be saved. It was so
poignant!
An update : Duolingo says I can understand 36.7% of all REAL French articles. Maybe
it's true. I am doing Occupations and Adverbs right now.
Bonne chance aussi!
