Has anyone tried this programme yet? Michel Thomas is completely audio based, but I wonder if it is as good as Pimsleur. The thing is that Michel Thomas are easier to get around here, but the cost put me off trying...

I have not tried it, but from my research it looks like it is one more of these language programs designed for mass marketing rather than efficiency. I read a long article about this guy in the LA times and they claim his life story is quite a fraud.
If anybody has used these programs with success, let's hear it.

Not sure if it was a coincidence, but Michel Thomas died the same day that this thread began.

Kidnickels,
The whole program is you listening to Mr. Thomas teach two students with zero knowledge of the target language, which is quite annoying--(as is Mr. Thomas's thick accent). The amount of the language covered is ridiculously small. Moreover, insofar as applied linguistics are concerned, his approach is from the best: he recommends that you "think out" every answer before giving your response.
Stick with Pimseleur.
