Another underrated Brazilian band which sent shivers down my spine in the 80's.

Here are some of my favorite Basque bands and songs: (all but the Sorotan Bele song and Betagarri songs are rock I guess. Betagarri is reggae/ska.)

Hona hemen nire talde eta abesti gogokoen batzuk: (ia guztiak Sorotan Bele eta Betagarriaren abestiak izan ezik "rock abestiak" dira, hala uste dut. Betagarriarenak "ska" dira.)

Urtz:

Kaixo (Hello)
Boulevardeko erlojua (The clock on the boulevard)
Bizitzarekin dantzan (Dance with life)

Ken Zazpi:

Olatuz olatu (Taming a wave? not sure of the translation)
Noizbait (Sometime)
Itxaropena (Hope)

Su ta gar:

Itxaropena (Hope. Yes, both songs have the same title, but are completely different)

Sorotan Bele:

Amaren Besoetan (in mother's arms)

Betagarri (abeslaria oso polita da - the singer is very cute :D):

Euri Tanta Bakoitzean (In every rain drop)
Sweet Mary

As you can see, there are many beautiful Basque songs. :)

Beraz, zuk ikusten ahal duzu, euskarazko abesti eder asko dago. :)

Some German pop or rock music. No one has yet mentioned Blumfeld on this forum, when I see it right. It is the best band of the last twenty years and probably ever making pop music in German. Sure, everyone downplays all the rest in comparison to his or her favourites, but I really can't think of any other band being that great in singing in German (and always or from time to time with some English inserted). It also fits to the title of the thread since Blumfeld always is also a kind of a sung linguistic theory, so music and language. Starting noisy in the beginning of the 90ies, they managed to produce such fine and smooth pop songs, it's such a pleasure to listen.

Verstärker: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cK3vcahVMAw

Tausend Tränen tief: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8blqsN05g4Q

Graue Wolken: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OS13ZiwPSR8

Jenseits von jedem: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O5Bpb-3kPZ8

And after the split of Blumfeld, from the latest solo project of the singer:

Murmel: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zK2zVXwaOIM

I'm always undecided on whether I really like Blumfeld more over Tocotronic. The latter one has also a great many of fantastic and heart breaking songs, as for instance:

Wir sind hier nicht in Seattle, Dirk: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XifJsTm6XIs

Im Zweifel für den Zweifel: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7j3trCjVM8Q

Kapitulation: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VVsIlHB3m7g

Nice songs have been made furthermore by Klee, like:

2 Fragen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iG--_hTSSfo

Für immer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Trap7s8GvTQ

But they are almost a bit disappointing in comparison to the former ones.

Einstürzende Neubauten - Stella Maris. That again is a great one:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ysQEF8K9zpM

And a song in Hebrew by Meir Banay and Eviatar Banay - Ezlech Ba'olam. I heard it some weeks ago in connection with the fire in the Carmel and ain't that a melodic guitar and canon with feeling?
