Very funny...if I were more bigoted I'd tell you off...hehehe....you aussies are lucky because your country has good bands, especially those which were outstanding in the 80's....Icehouse, INXS, Spy vs Spy, Crowded House (I know some of the members are Kiwi)..... I love music in all different languges.
I don't really use youtube a whole lot so you'll need to look for these for yourself. This list is not complete of what I listen to but it is a good portion of the different languages I listen to. Armenian Armenian Navy Band (Armenian, world, jazz.....mind blowing music) Arto Tunçboyaciyan (The same guy does ANB but this is his own wide ranging solo work) Turkish Barış Manço Bulutsuzluk Özlemi (blues turkish style) Candan Erçetin Cem Koksal Duman (a very unusual but very addictive turkish rock band) Funda Arar Gripin Kurban (heavy metal with a twist) Mor ve Ötesi (very solid rock band - beautiful melodies) Pentagram (MezarKabul) Pilli Bebek (voice of gold Ogün Sanlısoy (hard rocker with a soft side) Şebnem Ferah (possibly the most beautiful female singer I have heard) Sezen Aksu Vega Yüksek Sadakat Hebrew Arik Einstein Chava Alberstein (also does a lot of Yiddish and bits of other languages) Almana Sh'hora - אלמנה שחורה ברי סחרוף - Barry Sakharof Matti Caspi Idan Raichel's Project (recently found this amazing music) German Judith Holofernes (solo work of the singer from Wir Sind Helden) Rammstein Schweisser (If you like the heavy stuff these guys are awesome) Stahlhammer - they do a metal cover of "You Can't Touch This" - enough said Wir Sind Helden - (this rock makes you want to move - catchy and fun) Megaherz Eisbrecher French Bénabar Debout Sur Le Zinc (one of the most varied bands I have had the pleasure to listen to) Kyo La Rue Kétanou La Tordue Les Hurlements D'léo Pleymo (very strange...but I love it) Spanish Gipsy Kings Ill Niño - (heavy metal band that does a few of them in Spanish) Yiddish Brave Old World Chava Alberstein Klezmatics (This band is simply amazing...if you want to experience jewish/klezmer music then this bvand is my number one choice) Klezmer Conservatory Band Others Habib Koite & Bamada - (mali language singer I believe...beautiful work) I hope you all enjoy!!!
