Obviously a few more that I didn't know in this last one thousand segment than any other, I will do the 8001-10,000 tomorrow, though I don't know whether I will put what I don't know up on here, might be a bit too much. But still, 18 out of 2000 wrong is pretty damned good. Though 2000 is probably a stretch, lots of acronyms, English words, a few dutch, and a few belgocentric words as well. There were quite a few plurals and different conjugation forms as well.

As I said in my TAC goals, my comprehension is pretty decent. I just need to work on expressing myself.

Still, it doesn't exactly hurt the ego and I figure that puny little 5000 word list I have for Spanish won't be too hard when I get around to it.

Castellan:

Last night I read a chunk of A History of the Spanish Language Through Texts. It ended up being far too linguistically literary for me, but was still interesting for what I read through. It goes on to discuss the different dialects, creols, and all that jazz. But just in too much detail for my little brain.

Today I have listened to Michel Thomas Spanish CD's 1 & 2

It is amazing how the students can annoy me in every single language I have listened to MT in. I swear the guy has something wrong in his head, IN EVERY SINGLE ONE.

Thom.

Français:
I read upto page 23 of Bazar des Anges by Jean Christophe Heckers.

Rewrote my 'lettre de motivation' two times. I suppose this was an excercise in French. Checking and double checking and all that.

Castellano:

One Busuu module.

Assimil Lesson 11 answered the questions.

Pimsleur lesson 9

Part one of Websters Spanish Grammar, took four pages of notes. Played with my new fountain pen as well.

I remain,

Thom

Castellano

I did the excercises for assimil upto lesson 15.

I finished Bazar des Anges. Wasn't too bad, had to look up a few words.

That was all.

Are you learning 1000 words a day? It seems so!

Yeah, it's just the way I roll.

In all seriousness though. No, what makes you say that? The word list just involved me reading, and taking note of the words that I didn't know. Anyone who has done a seven month long, and continuing, immersion in a country will know that you kind of absorb alot of stuff. But even then I was a bit surprised at how few I didn't know. Still need to do the last two thousand, maybe this afternoon.

Had another interview this morning, was half English, half french. Don't know if I should bother counting it as practice or just usage. Still.

*Posted a message on Lang-8 yesterday afternoon and got a correction. I am reasonably pleased with it. But I need to get better. I sat there and worked on it far too much. Things need to start flowing. Go on things, flow!

Français: I put one more post up on lang-8 for my french. Got it corrected, realised I had made some pretty simple mistakes but oh well.

Castellano:

Completed my 25th Busuu.com module, and won a certificate. Which is kind of cool. Worthless, but cool neverthless.

Wrote my first lang-8 post in Spanish.

Some other things which I have forgotten, oh it was a half a dozen pages of notes from one of my grammars.

Dearest Readers,

I have been busy, not so much in the language learning arena, but in life. I was also sick on Sunday. But fear not, I am still around, tinkering away.

I profited from some down time, and finished the three mousquetaires. Which is an accomplishment and I am now looking forward to something a bit more modern, and a bit of a more easy read. I will let you know when I have decided on something. I will make a start on L'éternel Mari by Dostoïevski because that is what is at hand. But will see how it goes.

I remain,
Thom.
