In the United States, when a foreigner speaks English with an accent (Russian, Spanish, French, esp.) it is considered sexy. Is the reverse true or does an American accent just sound stupid?

I think that only people with a pretty good knowledge of English can hear an American accent, so in general terms there is not such American accent, just English accent in Spanish, and whether it is sexy or not I guess it depends on personal taste. Anyway, perhaps most people consider a French or Italian accent sexier, especially male accents in the case of Italian and female for French, that's the commonplace, I've never heard of English accent being sexy.

I will say that I have never heard or read a comment that English accented Spanish sounds good, much less sexy. Sure, there is an appeal because someone is foreign, but its not how for example the French accent is seen in America, which is generally positive and even at its worst is snobbish but thats a...positive negative quality? Kind of hard to express for me, but surely someone understands. Kind of like the word smartass.
American accented japanese has basically no appeal from what I know, apart from the appeal of BEING american. Nobody I know thinks someone saying SUu-key for 好きis sexy, cool or good.
Sorry americans...

Same for me
All the English courses I took, and most of the movies I've seen are in american English, so as I'm used to that accent I don't find it sexy, on the other hand, I love listening to people with british accent, because for me it sounds different.
I've heard a few american tourists and also some french people speaking in Spanish here in Mexico, neither of them sound sexy to me, but I think that depends on each person, everyone likes different things.

I think for East Asian languages (mainly Chinese and Japanese), it's different. American accents are definitely not
sexy when it comes to speaking those languages. There are a lot more fluctuations in the tones for each and every
word and throughout the whole phrase ... an American accent would just mess the whole sentence up to the point
of being incomprehensible. Perhaps if you have the accent, we'll think it's funny or cute in knowing that you're still
learning the language and have a long way to go. Intonation is everything. It's more so in Chinese than Japanese
where it's subtler and not as required. Korean, I have no idea.
But I'm going to go with cholevok and say that foreigners are sexy by default. I think it comes from just knowing
the person is from far away - the mystery, oh my!

Is the American accent sexy?
No. Even the most attractive woman becomes abhorrent when I hear her speak with (m)any of the American accents.

Well, a Brit sounds more pleasant speaking German than an American, to my ears at least. Does that answer your question?

An English accent in any foreign language sounds horrid to me. I especially hate the diphthongization of pure vowel sounds.
And Chinese foreign language accents too, some of the Olympic announcers just sound terrible, especially the female speaking French.

I can attest that an American accent in Mandarin sounds absolutely horrible. Even worse than a Chinese accent in English.
Would it be sexy? No.
Never once in 16 years have I ever heard a Taiwanese person say that an American accent is sexy.
It's not just American, almost any westerner who is a beginner in Mandarin will have just godawful intonation. Once one has the intonation on track it's ok.
