Finished up to track 7 of Michel Thomas Advanced Italian Disk 4 while walking.
He was teaching the present and past ("perfect") subjunctive. When I got back I looked them up in my Big Green Book of 555 Italian Verbs. It really helps to see the conjugations in print in a table but it is important to hear them as well. 1 person has voted this message useful | ||||||

Grazie, ChiaBrain, di mostrami il "Easy Italian Reader", questo è una cosa differente di miei "Easy Readers". Il tuo libro ha un livello del principiante, ma io non sono una principiante. Ma per i principianti dell'italiano mi pare di buona qualità e non è tan caro!

I finished Michel Thomas Advanced Italian today. Interestingly he recommends doing a lot
of reading and suggested finding articles with interviews so as to see the spoken language. Interesting because Kato Lomb was saying she learned languages mostly by reading. I also finished reading and all the exercises of Chapter 3 of Complete Italian Grammar. It was about Articles and the next chapter is about Adjectives. I've done lesson 51 of Assimil but still need to do the second wave part by translating the English of chapter 2 to Italian. I did the first two lines. I get frustrated. I read a post on here where someone was saying that they needed to listen to 20 minutes of the target language before they did this part. Perhaps I will try that. Its probably a good way to separate languages if you are studying more than one concurrently. I watched Elektra (the 2005 film) in Italian with English subtitles. Credo che sia vero. Ascoltare l'Italiano parlato primo di fare traduzione mi aiuta.
(I believe its true. To listen to spoken Italian before making a translation helps me.) Ho trovato dei registrazioni che mi piacciono moltisimo. Sono di la storia Romana antica. (I've found some recordings that I like a lot. They are of ancient Roman history) I'm not sure if I said that correctly. Corrections appreciated. Anyway, I found some recordings of spoken Italian that I'm looking forward to listening to. I really enjoyed the one I listened to on the Punic wars while walking. I understood most of it. There were some words I didn't know and some parts I wasn't completely clear on, but it was fun. I didn't know Rome and Carthage were allied against Pyrrhus before the first Punic war. I found the recordings in iTunes when I switched my country to Italia and searched podcasts but you can get them from here: http://www.gaudio.or g/lezioni/storia/romana/storia_romana.htm I finished translating Assimil lesson 2. I really would like to do more but its almost midnight here. Unfortunately the need to work to make a living is a big obstacle in the way of ... well, living! I think I'll read more of the Easy Italian Reader before I go to bed. I've finished up to chapter 13.
Well... I wanted to see Elektra anyway and I came across a version in Italian on the Internet. I don't seem to find many Italian movies at the Blockbuster video. Their foreign section is rather small. I use Netflix but sometimes they are dubbed in English even when it says the language is English. Ive seen a few lately that I'll list later. Grazie moltissimo! I thought "registrazione" was masculine so i used "dei" Anyway. It's late so I have to keep this short. Maybe Ill expand it tomorrow. I Listened to some Italian podcasts while walking. I read and completed the exercises for the first section in the adjective chapter of the grammar workbook. I had to write out some 30 sentences. I feel like its going to be slow, but I think writing things out helps. I did the listening/reading part of Assimil lesson 52. I'm going to read more of the Easy Italian Reader now. I finished another chapter last night. I can't believe its midnight here already. I could go on for a few more hours with this stuff but I really need to go to bed. I really have to find out a way to make money without working. Having to work for a living really gets in the way of... well, LIVING!
