Hectic time lately.
Anyway. Back on the Romanian track.
Still with a busy schedule, buuut, ½ - 1 hour everyday is possible to squeeze in.
How do you find time to study 4 hours a day? AND have a serious job/study? Maybe it is
just us danes. We like our jobs. Really. We do. Spend all our time there.
This week I will:
Go through pimsleur 9 and 10 and the next DLI Romanian lessons. And review my flash
cards.
I am considering buying pimsleur 10-20, but is it that good? I guess I will have to
make a *thread about it.
*Edit: I made the thread, and here it is. Read it!

Amoore, I think that in comparison with the VERY extensive DLI course available, money spent on Pimsler would be a waste -- especially because Pimsleur doesn't connect the written language to what you hear on the tape.
But it you're looking for more Romanian materials, be sure to check the profile on Romanian that Chung wrote in the "Collaborative Writing" sub-forum. Included among the materials he listed there were these two items for download:
- Modern Romanian / Limba română (online version of the textbook)
http://www.eric.ed.gov/ERICWebPortal/contentdelivery/servlet /ERICServlet?accno=ED054673
- Audio of the first half of “Modern Romanian / Limba română” courtesy Indiana University in .mp3 format
http://languagelab.bh.indiana.edu/romanian_archive.html
This would give additional practice, as well as a break from DLI.

Thanks. It's amazing how many free resources you can find out there for learning
Romanian.
Today

Today:
Pimsleur 10 - done
Three things I would like to bring up:
1. I went through every single flashcard once. I have not reviewed them for almost 3
weeks. Out of the 156 cards I could only remember 50-60% percent. Is this normal?
2. I found that while walking I can memorize more.
3. The "se" before verbs in Romanian seems a little tricky. When do I have to use it,
an what exactly is the function of this word?
(4.) I will strongly recommend that you listen to:
Piano Sonata Adagio sostenuto 1. movement by Beethoven.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w2cFEHM9yMw
I will tomorrow, hopefully, review ½ of my flashcards and memorize what I have
"forgotten".

On first glance it looks to me like the Reflexive form so common to romance tongues.
See here
a se numi <-> à se nommer (être appelé, être nommé)
really powerful device that doesn't quite exist in English, but is easily understood.
good luck :)

Aaah. Thanks.
I lend the colloquial Romanian from the library so I acutally* have it right here.
Bed time reading.
Some additional info for today (well, yesterday).
- I changed my browser, facebooks website, other windows programs, and so forth, into
Romanian. Nice move - I ROCK!
*Edit: "Acutally" is a very VERY foreign word which means "actually".
