OBSERVATIONS:
MY NEW ARABIC/BENGALI TUTOR
Today is a significant day as I began learning arabic with my new arabic/bengali tutor. He's got a course plan for
me that'll last 18months, which is great while I'm here in Bangladesh. I have 2-3hours of Arabic per week and 2
hours of Bengali per week.
It's exciting! Now I have to begin reassessing my workload and time management, particularly in the learning of
4 languages simultaneously.

OBSERVATIONS:
MAKING CHOICES ABOUT FOCUS LANGUAGES
I've decided that I will continue learning Bengali but only up to upper-beginner to intermediate level. This will
allow me to focus on Arabic with my tutor up to fluency and to the point where I can understand MSA news on
TV and newspapers. This is also an important choice because I foresee that it wouldn't be feasible for me to
maintain Bengali once I work in another posting outside of Bangladesh, whereas my work would definitely
demand that I maintain and progress with Arabic.
I will request this from my tutor on Friday.

OBSERVATIONS:
PREPARATION FOR UPCOMING FAO INTERMEDIATE FRENCH TEST
I organised it with my work, and next week I'll be doing the intermediate French Test administered by the FAO! I
have to get cracking and revise! Also, I will go through past exam papers and answer the questions. Wish me
luck!
