taephota
Irish for teapot. A painless introduction to word-building in Irish. The beginning consonant of the second word in a compound is lenited, indicated in writing by placing an h after most consonants. In this case, the spelling convention is familiar to everyone here: Pronounce this word as 'TAY-foh-tuh' and you will be understood.

Wa-fuu 和風
Japanese word for "Japanese Style." This word is made-up of the character for "Harmony" and
"Wind." "Harmony" was an old name for the country of Japan, however I am not sure how "Wind"
creates of the meaning of "style" in this word. It's interesting in any case.

xeric
English, pronounced 'zir-ik or 'zerik. It's an adjective that describes a very dry environment or habitat, or an organism adapted to such an environment.
Other languages: Mandarin 环境干躁的 huánjìng ganzào de (gan is 1st tone; my source made a mistake with the right character for zao); French, xérique; Cata., xèrofil, Esp., xerófilo. I chose English because this is a word that clicked in my head playing Scrabble in English.
