After hearing some Portuguese, I'd say Romanian & Portuguese tied are the best sounding. I really don't know why they're so put down on the poll. Though I might also just have a natural bias against the main three Romance languages since they're so pushed to be studied in the U.S., but I really think that I like those two, and I'm really tempted to learn one of those first (even though French would be more useful for polyglottery because of the abundance of language materials)... hmm, choices, choices

Agreed, ReneeMona's comment was idiotic, to say the least.

I apologize for my previous statement as I realise it may have been a little too harsh. I simply meant to say that it seemed to me as if the two particular speakers of Portuguese I listened to mumbled and swallowed a lot of what they were saying and the sound of this did not appeal to me. It was not my intention to insult anyone and I'm sorry if I did.

For me, I like the sound of French the most, followed by Portuguese...take the words "meu coração" for example, it sounds so beautiful to my ears...AND, bossa nova is never quite like bossa nova if it's not sung in Portuguese!

I find your dislike for Portuguese humorous, because you are studying Papiamento, which is a Portuguese-based creole language.

Le français, bien sûr ! Les langues romanes sont tous très belles, mais le français a une place spéciale dans mon cœur.

French, of course! The Romance languages are all very beautiful, but French holds a special place in my heart.
