I don't have any means of recording either, and I'm very non show-off-ish. I write lots of posts on lang-8 instead (well, not right now...) and that's enough for me when it comes to humiliating myself in public ;)

You Tube Video?
I am not familiar with the technical side of making videos. My friend says if we make an outside recording, it would be possible for him to achieve an acceptable recording quality both of the voice and the picture. He could interview me about my language learning experiences speaking in 4 languages. Some time we want to make a private test video and then evaluate the quality of it. It would be of no use uploading anything of unprofessional quality. So we will test the matter. If we find it suitable at all, it would result in an interview, so it won't be like a lecture made by Prof. Arguelles or Moses Mc Cormick. So we first have to check the recording quality and if that is OK, we should collect some language-related interview questions. How is the time limit for videos on You Tube?

PS: We will scedule the video proof for the last weekend in May. My friend speaks German, Dutch, English and Esperanto, so these will be the languages of the interview. I think 10 - 15 minutes is enough. He says that the recording quality for the voices is better outdoors, so it should not be raining on that weekend.

Fasulye,

Youtube has a 10-minute and 1Gb limit for free accounts, though I think there are company accounts (TV channels, muic labels) that can upload longer videos.

OK, 10 minutes would be enough for an interview covering questions in 4 languages. Step 1 will be anyway to test the whole technical procedure, because I really dislike sloppy recordings. When you speak in public the technical quality should be acceptable. What will help me, is that my friend does the recording and I can concentrate on being relaxed and on giving feasible replies to the "journalist's" questions. Many other people on You Tube record themselves, so they have to deal with a double task and this often looks unprofessional. I haven't yet opened a You Tube account, so I am not familar with the procedures there.

PS: Thanks for the link with You Tube's explanations, my friend and I really need to get some background knowledge about the technical side of it.

In case my username doesn't make it obvious, I am a male. Yes, I know I'm late in responding, but I'd still like to answer these questions.
1.) My motivations for learning languages are; I want to acquire as much knowledge as possible, and I enjoy attempting to get my mouth to make sounds that are not heard in English, indeed I'm having a lot of fun learning Finnish pronunciation because I often forget that I'm supposed to emphasize the first syllable of every word.
2.) I'm a single college student, so I don't have many responsibilities right now, but balancing schoolwork and language studies is sometimes difficult.
3.) No, I don't think language learning is a male dominated arena. I, like the original poster, wondered how many female members of this forum there were; I knew there must be many I wasn't aware of. I do think that men who learn many languages seem to attract more attention, though I have no explanation for why that might be.
4.) I'm learning out of desire rather than need at the present time.
Lastly, I think the call for YouTube language learning videos by women is a great idea; I am anxious to learn whatever I can from these videos when they are available.
