In the past I was using a keyboard setting for Turkish that I don't find any more.
I still have a sticky note on my screen that says that "ü" represents the letter g with that little roof on top, and "ö" represents an s with a small squiggle below, "l" was a dotless i and so on. 1 person has voted this message useful | |

To add a new keyboard setting if you're using Windows XP:
Click Start -> Control Panel. If you're using Category View in Control Panel, then click on Date, Time, Language, and Regional Options and from here click on Regional and Language Options. If you're using Classic View in Control Panel, then simply double click on Regional and Language Options. Once you've opened Regional and Language Options panel, you will see three tabs: (from left to right) Regional Options, Languages, and Advanced. Click on Languages tab. In Text services and input languages frame click on Details button. In Installed services frame you will see which input languages are installed in your computer. To add Turkish, click on Add button. Add Input language window will appear. From Input language section, click on drop-down menu and select Turkish. From Keyboard layout/IME section, click on its drop-down menu and select Turkish F. Click OK to apply changes and exit. In Preferences frame of the Text Services and Input Languages panel, click on Language Bar. This will bring Language Bar Settings window. Mark the checkbox next to "Show the Language bar on the desktop". Click OK and then OK to aplly and exit. "çöz(ül)mek", gene bir yeni kelime öğrendim :-). Ve ondan bir akrabalar var: "çözelti", "çözük", "çözünürlük" ve saire...

"akraba" is not a proper word here.
Although in Romance Languages it is defined as synonyms, it's different in Turkish: "Ona bağlı sözcükler var:" "Onunla ilgili sözcükler var:" But we prefer using "türemek" verb here. "Ondan türeyen sözcükler var:" İsviçre saati çok ilginç bir benzetme. :] 1 person has voted this message useful | |
