Progress made in Italian:
- Assimil perfectionnement: lesson 36
- finally finished going through the phrasebook, I don't know all the words of course and I intentionally skipped some sections (I really don't think I'm ever going to need vocabulary related to hunting for example!), but it definitely did help increase my vocabulary
- I signed up for the next level of Italian exams, the CELI 3 (B2 level) which will be held on November 22 which leaves me 2 months of preparation time
Progress made in Dutch:
I have started to reread the Assimil lessons I had previously done so I can start taking up Dutch again. I'll spend about 6 weeks in the Netherlands in November and December and I want to take advantage of that to make some good progress.

You should consider going to the Junulara E-Semajno (http://jes.pej.pl), a big
international week-long Esperanto festival around New Year's which takes place near
Berlin this year. There will be a chance to take official CEFR examinations during this
event as well, if you want to have someone evaluate your Esperanto. Mostly it's for
having fun though, concerts, movies, partying, learning/practicing languages, just seeing
international friends again...

That sounds really interesting, I would love to go to an Esperanto festival someday, I'm sure it's a great opportunity to meet a lot of interesting people. I didn't know there were Esperanto exams! Unfortunately, this year it won't be possible, I'll be celebrating the holidays with my in-laws in Mexico. Maybe next year!

8 days left until the Italian exam!
I have stopped working on the Assimil book for now and concentrate on exam preparation. I'm using the book Come prepararsi all'esame del Celi 3. I used the book for level 2 for the previous exam and found it quite useful, so I am going to work through the complete book.
I'm also revising grammar and verb conjugation and I'm reading the book Viaggiare et non partire by Andrea Bocconi. I have about 50 pages left and really like it. It's an easy read about one of my favorite things: travel. If anybody has some Italian travel literature to recommend to me, please let me know, I want more books like this one!
