un jeu de société - a board game (For those of you who are confused how I jumped to this from "Risque", there's a board and computer game series called Risk, oriented around war.)

This expression is pretty related to a differently translated form in English which would
be "taking a risk" whereas literally it would be "run a risk" (of course it doesn't mean
anything).

"run the risk" can be used in English e.g,: If we don't increase sales, we run the risk of bankruptcy.
