Hi guys, sorry for ressurecting this thread, but I always had interest on Papiamento and it just got bigger lately. A famous Brazilian standup comedy performer can speak Papiamento very well due to recurrent trips to Aruba, and he recorded a video in Papiamento that made even people from the ABC Islands laugh and be proud of his work:
Marcelo Adnet - Papiamento
So, is this the only thread at the forum about Papiamento? Is anyone learning it actively? Any native/advanced speakers around?
I plan to visit Aruba myself, and I don't want to go there before I can converse in Papiamento, which has so many familiar words to Portuguese, sometimes which aren't Spanish cognates, but only Portuguese ones.
