JACKPOT! I JUST FOUND THE BEST RUSSIAN AUDIO SOURCE! BBC.co.uk/russian has an excellent radio with new shows everyday that are up to an hour long. This is just what I need. My comprehending of native speakers of all languages I learn is not as good as it should be, and the only way to improve that is with listening. So I'm listening passively as I just sit here doing some other "reality world" stuff" that unfortunately interferes with my language learning schedule :).

I have decided to add Japanese to my TAC. I will be obtaining Assimil Japanese with ease when it becomes available, and my goal is to know Hirigana and Katakana by the end of the year, as well as to have finished Assimil Japanese. I also plan on learning a good amount of Kanji, but I'm not fully dedicating myself to the Kanji until I have a solid base. I am only doing this because TAC has technically not started, and it allows me to play around with my languages a little bit.

YAY!!! :D

I've just received my Schaum's Russian Grammar. I am continuing onto Lesson 5 (I think) of the Penguin Russian course. I'm doing some listening on the BBC and I"m going to be doing some shadowing of some BBC news articles in Russian. I am very excited to get started and I will probably be up for a few hours before I get to sleep :D.
I am still awaiting to find the perfect course for Japanese. Anyone know any online ones???

Hey ruskivyetr,
If you get any good Japanese resources let me know. I will be taking that up at the beginning of the year. The two resources that I know I am going to get are Assimil and this Japanese book called Genki(It has alot of good reviews but its like 35 dollars). I also just got James Heisig's book on Remembering the Kanji which I will not study to the first. Have fun on your language endeavors and I will be looking out for your log.

Again with the language switching. I'm sorry Shadow, but I will not be learning Japanese. It's not the materials, it's the language. I don't think I'm ready for something like Japanese. I mean since I'm learning Russian it should seem easy, but it's very different and I don't think I'm ready to commit myself.

For Russian, I have started the prepositional case, and I can't wait to start using my Schaum's outline for exercises.

For Czech I haven't done much but I will try to listen a little and reach a little more.

This is getting off to a rough start :(, but I thought that starting up my study of Swedish would be a good TAC side thing. I'm helping a friend learn Norwegian and it seems like a good opportunity.

Russian: I did some really good review of the prepositional case last night, and I'm going to start learning it hardcore today. I have learned quite a lot of vocabulary, and I am reviewing here and there. It is very helpful to have Anki, but I think I'm just going to use that for Hebrew since I have such smaller vocabulary goals.

Czech: I haven't had much time for Czech lately, but I plan to do a hardcore study time and get out of this rut, it's time I do better.

Swedish: I'm going to be doing a bit of review with my FSI course to remember what I started last year. I can't wait to get speaking again.

Hey, I'm planning on doing assimil japanese tome 1 this year. I hope you'll breeze through it, and motivate me even more to achieve this goal. Good luck!

Kubelek I'm going to be doing it around the middle of next year hopefully, when I'm ready to take on Japanese. I was taking in too much when I already had Czech and Russian there. Hopefully when my TAC starts zooming towards my goals, I will take up Japanese in a similar way that I am doing Hebrew.

I will still be getting the Assimil Japanese and I will definitely tell you about it. Perhaps I will start early? Maybe so. Take a look at my log once in a while and you may find that I will have started again with a slow and steady regiment.

Thanks!!!!
