Yawn, try these, they are basic and somewhat short but they have really helped me! Best of luck with your studies, it's very impressive!

By the way, do any of you guys know when to use the "Genitiv" and "Dativ" forms in German? I'm learning about them right now, but I'm extremely confused... Jiwon, perhaps you could help? :)

There explained well in the FSI course, you should use that.

Hey Yawn. I'm also 15. I lived in Japan until I was 10 and then I moved to Australia,
where I learnt English. But I guess learning English wasn't much of a problem as my Dad
is English and could communicate in English. My writing, though, was not as good. Reading
things I wrote when I came here makes me laugh. :)
So I can speak Japanese and English, and I've just started German too. How cool! But I'm
not that good at all, because I've just started. I know a bit of Italian too because I
study it at school, but I wouldn't say I can communicate in it, although I've came second
place in the Italian speaking competition twice.

Wow, thanks so much Jordan! I think I learned a lot more from the five minutes I spent looking over those sites than from the one or two hours I wasted staring at my book, which failed to explain it adequately... haha. :P

Hi tsam laiuep! (I love your username, by the way - very quirky :D) It's a great thing that you also love languages, especially at your young age. I'm sure you'll become fluent in the next few years or so, as long as you keep working hard at your goals. For me, even with all my fancy language proficiency certificates, I can honestly say that I don't know everything there is to know about French, or everything there is to know about Spanish... heck, I don't even know everything there is to know about English or Chinese, although they're both my native languages!

The cool thing about languages is that they represent a life-long learning process, and all the vocabulary covers so many different fields (medicine, law, religion, fine arts, music, etc.), so even if you spent your whole life studying one language you wouldn't be able to know everything about it. I can safely say that I'm fluent in English, Chinese, French, and Spanish, but by no means do I know everything there is to know about each of these languages. Whenever I pick up a newspaper or magazine, or even a newly-released novel, I get exposed to something different. It's just one of those things that has no end. :)

Especially the life-long learning process of foreign languages (and also of other interests of mine) is what I enjoy very much! I have been learning languages for many years now and the fun-factor doesn't change. Languages never loose their fascination for me. Yawn, if you have this attitude, you should keep it your whole life long (which is ahead of you) and you will enjoy this.

Oh, I know I will definitely maintain my current view on languages. They're just so intriguing, and so necessary for human communication and for the prevention of cross-cultural misunderstandings - what's not to like? :D

Hi there yawn, I'm 15 too and I'm kind of jealous (In a nice way :P ) of your language profile haha. And about being among party-like people, my situation is similar to yours, except that I'm a boy ;). Anyway, it's great to meet you on these forums!
