You guys might want to check out this site - www.tbcartarea.ge
It's just been launched and is going to cover Georgian cultural news mostly. I think they're producing some good quality videos and you might find them useful as well.

This means: "It's very well visible."
Do you mean "ძალიან კარგი ჩანს?" – It looks very good.

Yesterday was one of the most interesting days I've had in relation to my Georgian
studies. Some journalists from the Georgian TV channel Imedi are currently in Japan to
make a variety of reports on Japanese culture, society, the earthquake-affected
regions, and so on, and one of them is staying with my teachers Kojima-san and Medea.
Of course they were intrigued to know that there are Georgian classes in Tokyo and
Japanese people who want to study the language, so they decided to film a class and do
some interviews with the students.

Although I'm taking a break from the group classes at the moment Medea asked me if I
would be interviewed, so yesterday I went along to Asahi Culture Center in Shinjuku,
where the classes are held, and did an interview in Georgian for Georgian TV. I was
fine with the bits I thought up myself, about my background, why I'm studying Georgian,
and so on, but then they told me specific things they wanted me to talk about (i.e. why
Medea and Kojima-sensei are brilliant teachers) and I struggled with that, not because
Medea and Kojima-sensei aren't brilliant teachers, of course, but I kind of froze a bit
and became a bit garble-y.

So anyway, it looks like I'm going to be on Georgian TV. I'm expecting the movie
script and recording deal any day now...

Apart from my (very minor) brush with fame, things are chugging along well enough with
my Georgian. After my abysmal conversation lesson things seem to be going a bit better
in that respect. I think perhaps Medea has slowed down and simplified her speech a
little and I've tried to stick to saying things I know I can say rather than attempting
sentences that are more or less impossible for me at this stage, which only leads to
the disappointment I felt a couple of weeks ago.

At home it's still a jumbled mixture of reading articles on websites, a few pages of
კარიკატურისტი on the train to work, a couple of distillations of my Gold Lists, and a
bit of TV and You Tube clips here and there, but that's fine for now. Next time I'll
try writing something in Georgian again.
