You guys are right that I can't use my hatred as proof that Spanish is easy. I should have said that Spanish is so easy, I hate it. It's seems easy to me because of all the cognates (even if some are false) with English. The original poster dislikes using the word easy at all. I should have just argued why I disagree with that view.

Iversen, regardless of the language being pushed on you, you are free to fight back. If your arguments are strong enough, you might convince your fellow countrymen.

Tarvos, thanks for responding directly and letting me know what you think of my posts. Please continue to point out any errors I make.

Edit:
Oops. I don’t know why I’m not as sharp as usual. I gave in way too much without realizing it. I don't know why I thought I said my hatred proves it’s easy. I said, “I hate it partly because it’s easy” and then failed to explain why that’s relevant. Let me try again.

I was trying to explain why I went into detail about why I hate Spanish. I went into detail because it gives relevant background information about me. There are people that say that if a person hasn’t achieved a high level in Spanish, he shouldn’t say it’s easy. I disagree based on what I’ve seen of it ever since childhood. I developed hatred for it because it seemed easy and I tried my best to avoid learning any of it. Now that I’ve given in and started learning some of it, I have confirmed for myself that the whole thing is easy. That was the story I was trying to tell in message 115.

I did go off topic when I mentioned other reasons for my hate, like it being pushed on me, but in the sense that those reasons help explain why I avoided learning it until now, I don’t think I strayed too far. Going off topic isn’t a bad thing, and if I had gone off topic by discussing my love for Spanish (or how natives switch to your native language when you try using their language as in messages 103-109), people probably wouldn’t have complained.
