Oh no, no NO! Don't do this! Terrible things can happen when the wrong words, correctly spelled, get into a piece of writing. You still need to proofread!

Some people call this the Cupertino effect.

Many people seem to believe that India has only one language, which they commonly refer to as "Indian."

Many people also believe that of Switzerland, and call it Swiss. A few people who are entirely aware of the linguistic situation of Switzerland insist on calling Swiss-German 'Swiss' too, which can make it hard to assess if someone is using the term because of utter ignorance about Switzerland or not.

As I am currently living and working in Switzerland, I have encountered many people asking me whether I speak Swedish!

No, English is not descended from Latin.
No, German is not descended from Latin.
No, Gaelic is not descended from Latin.

NO, BASQUE IS NOT DESCENDED FROM LATIN!!!

Lol

I didn't think people even knew what Basque is, let alone think that it was derived from Latin.

English is not descend from latin but if you exclude all the English words originated from latin you cannot speak, write and read English.
(in the above sentence = descendere - excludere - origine - are latin words)

What is Basque ? an hat I suppose...and Mandarin in Italian (mandarino) is a citrus fruit ....maybe called tangerine in English

sh.

It is better that you call it Nederlands and not Dutch ,because the word "Dutch"it is derived from Dietsch (or Diets in modern Dutch), which has the same derivation as Deutsch (German for 'German'). In facts "dutch" means "german"....so...
