Still not studying Cantonese like I should be. I rarely speak anything but English now that I've moved back. Use it or
lose it. Scary thought. M.u.s.t. g.e.t. o.n. t.r.a.c.k!

On a positive note, I've found a great place to study Spanish. I started last week. Seems like a fun and useful
language and the class is pretty good.

Making more progress with Spanish than with Cantonese.

Finally watched a couple of episodes of Happy Sheep and Big Bad Wolf in Mandarin. I'm not an addict yet but I
could see it happening since I'll probably play it from time to time for my daughter.

Hi from China, Jimbo! So glad you've gotten started on Happy Sheep and Big Bad Goat. And I feel I ought
to yell at you for dropping Cantonese for Spanish, but I do sympathize. Spanish is such a useful language
in North America, and quite a bit easier than Cantonese for most of us, though with your Asian language
background, I'm not sure. Anyway, enjoy your class and your flirtation/relationship with Spanish.

I hear a lot more Mandarin than I used to around town and a lot less Cantonese. Most of my Cantonese speaking
friends have moved to the suburbs.

Still, I'm trying to get back on track with Cantonese. I've been listening to Hong Kong internet radio broadcasts and
the audio portion of my Cantonese courses. I'm able to catch a few words here and there.

I had a listen to some of my old Taiwanese Minnanhua recordings yesterday. It seemed a bit strange because I
haven't heard much Taiwanese Minnanhua in such a long time and I seemed to be thinking of how to say things in
Cantonese rather than in Taiwanese. Argh. Neither one is right.

jimbo, the good news is that you're thinking in Cantonese, right? Are you still doing some Spanish too?

I think I'll enroll in another Spanish course starting in a couple of weeks. I haven't been doing much with it since the
course ended a month or so ago. Bad, bad, bad.

Most of my stuff is still in storage but I have my electronic flash card decks I'm working through after a long break
and I managed to dig up a couple of old Korean and Chinese text books and the Confucian Analects out of an old
box. Not the most lively stuff to read but sure helps me get to sleep at night.

Have I mentioned how much I LOVE having a Chinese dictionary on my iPad? It used to take me FOREVER to look up
a word in the dictionary. Not it just takes a few seconds. If I see a reference to a person or place I don't know, no
problem. WIKIPEIDA!

Just picked up a mini-series in Cantonese. Let's see if this does the trick. There are always subtitles if it
is too tough.
