Please be on my team!! ( not selfishly motivated at all by your being a native Spanish speaker, of course!). It's team Я, a Russian team. I'm sure my teammates won't mind at all. Y muy buena suerte con tus estudios!

Well, I had listed arodriguez66 as an individual TACer, but after seeing your pleas for him to join your team I added him to Team Я.

Hi guys!
I would like to be a part of TAC 2011. My target languages are English (Intermediate),
Spanish (Newbie) and German (Newbie). For you I can share my Russian and Byelorussian.
I'm start to work by myself but want to be a part of a team. Does any team want to invite
me? :)

Hi Alexander, You would be most welcome on our team, provided we are allowed to take you along. We could definitely do with a native Russian speaker since we are a Russian team, and I can offer you all the help you need with Spanish, the ones with English as their native language are able to give you all the help you need with your English, and I and possibly some of the others should be able to help you out with newbie questions in German.

Hi, is it too late to sign up? I'm new. If not, can I do Spanish? I don't mind if I'm by myself or in a team.

Alexander.Stoma, you're now placed on Team Ж along with Solfrid Cristin, nogoodnik, geordie, and snovymgodom. Originally the teams were made by grouping people together who are learning the same language(s), but since Solfrid Cristin has already invited you to her team I've made an exception. Don't forget to create your own log though.
JamesAE, you may join the TAC at any time. I've grouped you together with amber5499, Kerrie, Icaria909, and tennisace on Team É. Hopefully by creating your own log you can wake up your teammates, since they have not written much (or anything) since the beginning of the year.
EDIT: This reminds me... I think I shall make an updated list of everyone who's still in every few months, since many people seem to have been dropping out and some have not started their logs at all yet (the Icelandic Team Þ, for example).

Good idea. How long does a log have to be abandoned before the writer is thrown out of the competition?

I was thinking that there should be at least one post in the past month detailing any progress (unless there are extenuating circumstances). But I would only make a check-up list once every three months or so, although from time to time I do drop into some inactive logs to "wake up" its owner. The person wouldn't be thrown out of the competition of course, just no longer considered part of it until they come back. I believe Buttons did something similar last year, and if she mistakenly listed someone as disappeared but they were still there they could just correct her. See here for example.
