Inspired by the layout in your weekly masterpieces, I've decided to add a little splash of colour to my own drab ascii-blots with the inclusion of some hopefully-not-too-conspicuous flag icons. I've tried to make them small, round and friendly - hope you don't mind? :) |

Not at all. I look forward to seeing your list of . :) By the way, I think you should start learning Italian so that you can have some green in the mix to balance out all the red.

Hey, I also was inspired by this since ellasevia came up with it and I thought about that more than one time (wow, what an alternation of t's). On the other hand, if we have all the flags in our logs, maybe ellasevia's log would lose something of its greatness. So if you don't mind? ;) But maybe I can't insert pictures as a junior member? I'm not sure. Anyway, it would be a nice blue and white mix, if I should project the modern flag back into the ancient time.
edit: I just saw I sometime must have become a senior member...

Happy to see you are feeling better. Personally I find that of all the remedies that do not help against a cold or a flu, the most pleasent one is a Lumumba. (Hot chocolate with generous amounts of cognac).

@Buttons, Solfrid Cristin
Thanks for the good wishes. I'm taking your advice and edging back into things slowly today with a friendly cuppa. I also learnt something new in all this: a hot Lumumba is called a "Tote Tante" (Dead Aunt) in North Frisia. Should I be worried? @.@
@Meelämmchen
The thought of all that blue and white reminds me of walking by the sea...so very calming. I wish I were in Stiges right now watching the locals tango in the sand to the tune of the setting sun and picking out distant white sails on the crimson-edged horizon. :)

You finished LR-ing Crime and Punishment in Russian - massive achievement, bro!! :D Where do you feel your Russian reading and listening levels are at now? I imagine you must be on a whole new level.
And if you look far down this mountain, way into the distance, like a speck pushing up through the first wisp of gold-tipped cotton vapours, you might see a wonky mountain goat clippety-cloppetying up a rocky stretch and waving back at you unsteadily (as only one can with cloven hooves)...and that'll be me! |

Lol. Fantastic picture!
I got a pretty cool boost in my Russian levels. When I read my parallel text, I often find the language to be so transparent at times. I now read the Russian side first and check the English for clarification. It's like: when did I get these skills? I have a faint memory that I've spent some heavy hours on Russian LR and scriptorium and parallel text reading...talk about invisible progress.
It's probably not the hardest parallel text though..... ;)
I hope I can do a Russian stress test on the Master and Margarita next month, this time will be the first time I LR Russian with an aligned text.
The climb goes on - we aim for the top! :D

@ellasevia, @teango: By the way. I'm a huge fan of the idea of choosing the next language solely based on the colors of their flags. Screw all that "I need it for my career", "it's such a beautiful language", "I love the people", "I find the culture fascinating" etc.
Hardcore learners just say: "I need some green for the balance..."
;D
