Hi guys

Since finishing L-R method on Harry Potter, and wanting to take a little break from L-R
for a little while, I am considering mixing it up with other materials, methods.

There's a few ideas I'm playing with. I may take a selection of the below:

1. to finish off Assimil. I got 1/4 of the way through the active wave earlier this
year it would be nice revisit that and finish it off.

2. Scriptorium. I'm not sure yet on which text to copy. Thinking of working through my
book "Mastering German Vocabulary".

3. Anki. I have notice that I am continuously meeting the same words (particularly
verbs) over and over again and always having to look them up in the dictionary. It's
frustrating that I can't retain these pesky works. Anki drills maybe the answer.

4. Extensive Reading. Finding a few easy texts and reading, reading, reading.

5. Compose a few paragraphs on various themes.

6. Michael Thomas - advanced course.

I have been doing a lot of watching TV and LR lately. I would like to do a little more
structured intensive study now. Not sure where to begin! What to do? What to do?

Hi nice log. I was chuckling at myself - as I read a post in German the author switched to English briefly at
the end and my mind in German mode just read it off with a nice German accent. I'm sure it didn't do
justice to the author's English. Anyway, I saw you asking what you should do now that you've finished off
Potter and listed a few options. I would heartily suggest sticking with native material and supplementing it
with anki using the words you look up as you go. I found that worked well with Spanish for me and
personally, I can't wait to ditch the language lesson books and get on to native material. So much more
interesting and doesn't require half the discipline to sit down and do. For me anyway.
