If you want something really bad, then you will ALWAYS find some spare time for that, believe me. You can always fit one hour per day into your schedule. I think anyone can find that much time :)

Hmmm, now that's not necessarily true. Languages as a skill on their own... aren't inherently worthless at all. But knowledge of a language, as a sole qualification/skill, probably won't yield you a lot from the job market.

I think it depends where your targets are, I'd be happy doing something I enjoy, of course people want to be comfortable, but I'm not bothered about super high wages etc.
I think languages can open up alot of opportunities jobwise not to mention new countries!

Language is such a satisfying field of work. You just get this... this feeling when you can communicate with somebody so well in a foreign tongue! I think that if you enjoy your work, and you really enjoy what you are doing, then wages are just a bonus!

I consider the learning of languages and their relation to work as opening up many opportunities for jobs in other countries that otherwise wouldn't have been possible. On the other hand, I don't consider it as practical or easy to look for jobs relating to languages as a profession, such as translating.
