true, I know there is that culture animosity, but from what I understand most of the Slavic languages are mutually intelligible to one degree or another. so if your Russian is really good enough you could understand spoken Polish, Ukrainian, Serbian, Czech, or Slovak for example. 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

Roughly in order of priority:

Where does one find resources for Quenya and/or Sindarin?
I just bought some materials for Klingon...For a long time I thought I'd never give it the time of day because of the "stigma" attached to learning a language like such...but then one day I got the dictionary/grammar book out of curiosity for the grammar, and over time (years of tinkering with it) became a bit enamored with how different it is, even though it is not a natural language. Do you mind sharing what they are and where you bought them from? I know someone who's absolutely crazy about Star Trek and I'd love to shock them with some phrases in basic Klingon. 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

You can try that website. The materials I got have all been from Amazon. As you can imagine, there isn't a huge demand for Klingon interpreters...unless you live in Oregon ;-) (check out this urban legend), therefore the books and tapes I got were quite inexpensive. In fact, if they had cost more money, I probably would have over-ridden my curiosity once again and not bought them.

Interesting website. Picked up a few "choice" phrases to tell my friend. Also, I searched on Amazon and I found Klingon "Hamlet". I always considered Shakespeare to be an Earthling, but still... 1 person has voted this message useful |
