Korean. I've been riding the Hallyu for over a decade.

Arabic. But I managed to avoid it as the dialects and lack of anywhere to learn dialect is putting me off.

German! That language makes me crazy. The prononciations, the words, the accent, eveything! I am actually studying German at school and I enjoy it really much. I really wanna master that language.

Russian. There's just something in the language that I can't resist... Maybe it's the sound, the grammar, the speakers and their "mysterious" souls... But anyway, I love it.

Russian and french for me to learn. But don't ask me why.
Italian for me to listen to. I adore to hear them talk. Culture and history attract to a language like nothing else. The entire feeling you get, even your mood and behaviour sometimes changes when you speak different languages. When I speak greek, I use lots of body language, sometimes instead of a word. When I speak English I never do that, so I always end up being more verbal. Which is odd, of course. 2 persons have voted this message useful | |

Years ago, I had an unbridled passion for Mandarin. I still love it and use it every day,

Persian. I don't even know why, I just love it. It's pretty much guaranteed that I'll instantly fall in love with someone if I hear them speaking Persian.

I often get hit by wanderlust when I look up info about languages online. If I don’t know where a language is spoken or how it sounds I want to look it up. Then I always end up wanting to learn the language myself. And being a regular visitor of this forum doesn’t help... I’ll see another user is learning maybe Hindi and I’ll think “Oh, I don’t know much about Hindi, I want to find out more…” Then Google it and think “Wow, what a beautiful script – I want to learn Hindi!”
As late as yesterday I was looking for videos in Portuguese on Youtube because I wasn’t sure how it actually sounds. I've always assumed it was very similar to Spanish, but it has a hardness to it that reminded me of German or Russian mixed with Spanish. Currently I have like 10+ languages on my personal hitlist, so I guess I'll be fully occupied the next 20 years or so... :) 2 persons have voted this message useful |
