Thanks for the wishes. I haven't gotten very far in the novel, I basically keep repeating the same first pages! I also
started reading a polish translation of Marguerite Duras' L'amant (Kochanek), but both my mom and my teacher say
it's written in a strange way (albeit correctly from a grammatical standpoint).

Well, W pustyni i w puszczy is a hard book. Good luck with it! I know when I read it that the reading grew
a lot easier as I went along because I became accustomed to his style.
I have never heard of Kochanek. Is it good?

Yes, I love Duras. L'amant (translated as Kochanek in polish) is her most famous novel.

Well I haven't written in a long time. I didn't stop studying polish of course, but I certainly halted by progression
because of work and discouragement. I put chinese on hold for the time being but I expect to come back to it
eventually, probably in the fall. I'm now at lesson 13 in my polish textbook which means I won't be able to reach my
goal of finishing it before leaving for Poland on july 25th. I'm expecting to considerably augment my level during my
trip though so who cares about a couple of lessons behind schedule. I'll be in a complete polish environment, living
with a polish family and having 5 hours of polish class each weekday. Should make up for my lack of study these
last few weeks.

Great to hear from you again Homogenik. I know how you feel about finishing goals, but at
least you've made some progress. Good luck with the trip and I look forward to hearing
about it.
No dalej!

What an amazing experience you're going to have! And I can't even imagine how much your understanding and
confidence in Polish is going improve. Very exciting. Have an amazing time in Poland Homogenik!! Looking forward
to hearing about your experiences.
Also I forget if I already past this on to you before, but just in case:

Thank you for that map, it's nicely designed. I'll bring it with me on my computer. I also bought a little tourist book
on Poland for maps and such (I couldn't find one just for Warsaw, niestety). I'm supposed to go flying in a balloon
apparently (that's one of the activities they got planned for me over there). Hopefully I won't have too much vertigo,
as it should provide a breathtaking view of the city.
