Okay, aquí tienen el ensayo que prometí (si puedo referirme a él como un ensayo, lo que no es muy seguro).
Simplemente escribí todo lo que me entró en la cabeza. ¡Ojalá la gramática no sea horrible! Por favor, ¡corríjanme los errores! Actualmente uno de mis objetivos principales es mejorar mi español escrito. Mi Gata Terrible Sé que le agrada a mucha gente tener un gato. Sin embargo, para mí los gatos son insoportables. No quiero decir que no hay buenos gatos en el mundo, pero yo misma no he tenido suerte con mi ejemplar de esta especie. Tengo muchas razones por las cuales siento una antipatía intensa por mi gata. Primero, mi gata es muy mala. Hay que admitir que no siempre era así. Hace mucho tiempo se perdió i no pudimos encontrarla durante unos meses. Desde esta aventura la gata no es la misma criatura. Araña y muerde a casi todos, quienes se atreven a aproximarse a ella. Por ejemplo, cuando mi hermano era muy chiquito, la gata se subió a nuestro carro y le atacó. Él, siendo muy joven, se cayó desde su asiento a la cajuela. Allí permaneció, gritando, hasta que mi mamá consiguiera rescatarlo. ¡En verdad la gata es un terror! Segundo, la gata es cobarde y asustadiza. He escrito que ataca a todos. Es cierto, pero esta calidad sólo se manifiesta cuando está en compañía de humanos. Tiene miedo a otros animales. Mi abuelo, quien es diez veces más grande que ella, no le plantea ningún problema, pero el gato de al lado - ¡qué temible! Tercero, el timor de mi gata desgraciadamente no se extiende a los pájaros y los ratones. Le gusta decorar mi umbral con las sobras espantosas de sus presas. Si no mantengo vigilancia, ella pasa los animalitos a la casa de contrabando y entonces sangre y huesos se encuentran por todas partes. Por fin, mi gata es ladrona. Su lugar favorito es mi cama. Deja el pelo en mi cama y, lo que es aún peor, deja hojas marchitas, trozos de cortera, y ¡quién sabe que tipos de insectos! No sé cuantas veces he tenido que cambiar mis sábanas debido a la gata. En adición de la suciedad, es muy difícil acostarse en una cama en la que se ha colocado una gata loca. Por todas estas razones (y probablemente más, las cuales se me han olvidado) no me gusta mi gata. Si no fuera tan mala, podría aguantar su cobardía, sus regalos que dan asco, y su higiene lamentable, pero no puedo cargarla sin que tenga que protegerme de sus fauces y garras. ¿Qué hacer con una gata que no se puede acariciar? ¡Qué buen escritura! ¡Estás aprendiendo tan rapido! En cuanto a tu gato, hmm, los gatos siempre suelen hacer lo
que les da la gana, es uno de los rasgos más arraigados de esa especie 'domesticada' y no creo que hay mucho que se puede hacer. ¿Cuántos años tiene? También parece que durante esa aventura le pasaran algunas malas cosas que cambiaron su comportamiento y cómo siente cuando está con seres humanos. Así que tal vez sólo le hacen falta unas nuevas experiencias buenas con los seres humanos para que vuelva a sentir a salvo con ellos y así puede relajarse. Últimamente tuve una experiencia algo relacionada a tu historia cuando desperté hace dos días a una rata muerte mordido en dos extendida frente a la puerta trasera. Hemos tenido una rata viviendo en el garaje durante los últimos meses debido al hecho de que crecían muchas verduras en nuestro huerto así que siempre tuvo algo que comer y por lo tanto se instaló cerca. Pero también hay un gato negro del barrio que cada noche le gusta jugar y pasar el rato en el mismo huerto. Entonces parece que una noche fatídica las andanzas del gato coincidieron con la cacería de comida de la rata y así, fue el final de la rata (y probablamente una noche muy divertida y emocionante para el gato). No fue una vista bonita ni lo que quise ver a las 8 de la mañana con un cuenco de muesli en la mano. Bueno, espero que algún día muy pronto tu gato se convierta en uno de los gatos más lindos del mundo y deje de dejar pedazos de naturaleza sobre tu cama. ¡Que tengas un buen día y sigue así! 2 persons have voted this message useful | |||

Me alegro de que te gustara mi escritura - fue muy divertido escribirlo. La gata tiene unos diez o once años, no me acuerdo exactamente de cuantos, así que es bastante vieja. Últimamente es muy holgazona y duerme mucho (desgraciadamente, suele hacerlo en mi cama, y no en la suya). He intentado tratarla con suavidad, pero mis esfuerzos no han producido ningún resultado positivo. ¡Me he resignado a tener una gata mala! Tu historia de la rata me da asco - ¡ojalá en el futuro no encuentres tales regalos al salir de tu casa, especialmente no cuando estás comiendo! ¡Buena suerte con tus estudios en el resto de la semana! 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

Oh dear. I have not updated this log in a whole month. I have been studying, though, even if I haven't had the
opportunity to post about it. Polish Unfortunately, I have not done very much Polish. This is partly because I have to focus on Spanish because I am taking the AP exam in three weeks, partly because my Polish teacher just moved back to Europe so I am discouraged about that, and partly because my computer has been inaccessible due to a virus for two weeks. The one thing I can say I did well on was flashcards. I actually did ALL of my Anki reviews TWICE. I am writing another essay, still reading Stara Baśń, and trying to pretend I don't have ten million vocabulary lists lying around waiting for me to organize them. Spanish My Spanish has been going very well. I read four more chapters of La Ciudad de las Bestias, although I have put that on hold for a few weeks so I can have extra time to study for the AP test. I have been reviewing verb tenses with pretty good results - yay! At Easter I had a very long conversation with my Puerto Rican aunt. I understood almost everything she said, but I was not very pleased with my oral skills. Maybe I'll get Pimsleur from the library again to force myself to speak some every day. I have almost caught up with my Anki reviews and I have added a couple of hundred new flashcards to my decks. The total is now at 3,876. My goal is to be at 5,000 by August. I have been watching the news in Spanish (and occasionally soap operas). I understand most of what they are saying, which is encouraging. Latin Latin is going very well for me currently. I feel like I am finally able to understand things in Latin without having to translate them to English in my head. I finished Chapters 22, 23, 24, and 25 of Wheelock's. Chapter 26 is on comparatives and superlatives, which is fairly interesting. It's not as exciting as participles, ablative absolutes, and the passive periphrastic, though. I know I haven't written anything in a while - it is because of that crazy Spanish AP exam. I am VERY
stressed about it, and last Saturday I officially gave up on Polish studies until after Tuesday (the day of the terrifying test). Today I officially gave up on Latin until after Tuesday, too. I have been doing WAY too much Spanish lately, so after the test I will probably take a break from Spanish (except for reading and flashcards) until June. Now I need to tear myself away from this addictive website and go finish all my chemistry homework. ¡Hasta luego! 1 person has voted this message useful | |||
