4 weeks is too short for language learning. In some ways, the difference between being able to keep up a challenge for 6 weeks and for 4 weeks is like the difference between being able to keep learning a language and just giving it up (as most of us end up doing!)
Funny, what I thought was vice versa: if you manage 4 weeks without giving up, you'll manage 6 as well. Most of those who have zero hours on the third day will have zero on the last day.

I think 4 weeks is enough, if even with Finnish those who did 35h/month showed pretty good results. The challenge has indeed turned from "how much you can achieve with 30 mins a day" into "let's study as much as possible." For the latter, 4 weeks are enough. I'd not mind a separate, low-pressure challenge for the former, though:) It would be more about consistency, as you said.

Reminds me on the consistency threads at WriYe - btw now that I think of it, our TAC is like WriYe and the 6 week challenge is like NaNo of course. We sure need to steal some of their challenges!

I just want to say congratulations to Woodsei, JPP4 and Cristina! And to everyone else for that matter. I think
this was the most successful challenge I've done in terms of how much I learned. I mean, this is only my third
one, but I once got 1st place for target hours and this time I got 4th, but this one was still better! :)

Congratulations, everyone!

Top scorers for their target language:
1. Woodsei: 303 hours of Japanese. That is more than I spent on my best language in all
of 2011. Note to self: must study harder.
2. JPP4: 184 hours of Greek.
3. CristinaNorway: 183 hours of Russian.
4. amy_burr: 162 hours of Georgian.
5. drsarvo: 162 hours of Russian.

Top scorers for total hours:
1. Woodsei: 330 hours
2. CristinaNorway: 291 hours
3. JPP4: 269 hours
4. serpent849: 220 hours
5. amy_burr: 213 hours

Truly amazing results from everybody. 22 people studied at least 1 hour of their target
language every day and 38 people spent at least 1 hour studying languages every day!
This has to be one of the best 6 Week Challenges ever!

Thank you for participating, everybody!

Thank you for organizing the challenge, Sprachprofi! This has been the best time well-
spent on any endeavor, and in particular languages. The motivation was amazing, and
helped lots with my Japanese. Looking forward to the next one :)

Congratulations to Christina, drsarvo, and everyone out there who was part of it :)

And the WriYe links look interesting, too. Thanks!
