Hi, I'm in for Japanese. Still deciding on either Twitter, or here on the thread, but
will make that decision in a couple of hours. But I'm in. I'm a student, but I can get in
a fair number of study hours.
If I do want to tweet, should I just post on my Twitter, or is there a place I have to
register first? I'm new in this, so I'm not sure. If I decide to do the posts here and
not Twitter, I should just post here everyday, right? I don't really understand what to
do exactly, even though I did read the article posted on the 6WC. Thanks! |

The instructions are here: http://6wc.learnlangs.com/howto
You register by tweeting. For example, you could tweet:
@6WCBot I want to #register to study #Japanese intensively in February. #HTLAL user; working #full-time.
If you're not working full time, just change full-time to part-time or free.
Then, you tweet your study times like this:
@6WCBot I studied 1 hour and 45 minutes of #Japanese using #Anki today.
There's more detail on the instruction page but that's the gist of it. I hope that helps!

How can one change the language chosen to participate in the 6

I changed your target language by hand; there's no automated way to do it. It really
shouldn't be possible anymore once the challenge has started, because it changes the
score significantly.

Just discovered that tag #anki and #Anki are treated differently but #German and #german are not. It might be a good thing if tags are the same, independent of letter case?
Thanks!!

Does the system recognise Northern Saami as a language. How would I write it for it to register in my statistics - Sami, Saami, N.Saami?????
Thanks in advance

The tag is #se and the name used to be "Northern Sami", with a space preventing it from
ever being recognized as a tag. I changed it to just "Sami", so you can use #se or #Sami.
I also added #AncientEgyptian at Teango's request.
Zenmonkey, thanks for noticing. The languages are treated differently because the tags
are double-checked against a list, whereas other tags are up to each user, you could make
a tag #fjoIMihg and the bot wouldn't complain. I will put it on my to-do list to make
these case-insensitive too though. I've been way too busy preparing and teaching an
Esperanto class locally, so haven't had a chance to work on it yet and now I have some
catching up to do on the Finnish challenge.

I'm more than a week late but I just decided to study Esperanto for the remaining time in the challenge! I'm assuming that the Twitter bot will still let me register...
