Surrealix, when I tried to switch my regular half challenges to the new major challenges, the bot signed me up for regular Super Challenges instead. Hopefully, it's just a little bug or something easily fixed. I'd be grateful if you'd take a look at it again and see what the problem is. Thanks!

I guess it thinks you've got enough spare time for another 100 books and films ;). Thanks for the
heads-up though, I've fixed the bug and corrected your entries.
In a (hopefully) unrelated problem, my webhost has been having some connectivity problems recently
and the Language Bot has unfortunately missed some tweets in the last 12 hours. If yours was one of
those affected, the best solution is to just re-submit it. Otherwise drop me a note and I'll get it
back into the list for you. I'll be keeping a closer eye on things in the next few days to try and
catch the issue figure out how to prevent this becoming a regular occurance.

This in only semi-related to the Super Challenge, but...
Does Norwegian or Swedish have more literature? I'm debating picking one of them up for the Assimil experiment, but I want to choose the one that has the most literature available.

I can certainly vouch you can see 100 movies and
not master anything. Movies are word poor and a
"book" can be anything. The average novel has
about 350 pages or 100,000 words. An average
movie has less than 10,000 words. Some 100
books would create a corpus of about 10 million
words which is sufficient for incidental learning of
many words. You'd need 1000 movies to match
that. Such corpus would be less rich, with greater
repetion of more basic words which is probably
ideal for language learning. Be advised that you
can easily run through 2 million words with few or
no instances of some indispensable words.
I like this idea, though, it fits great with that other
challenge.

The definitions of the challenges in the Twitter/Bot page don't match the ones given in
the Total Info Reference (TIR) thread. Can someone please tell me under what category to
register for 100 films + 100 30 mins conversations (no books and no writing)?
This is a Super Duper Challenge as per the TIR thread, but the option on the Twitter/Bot
page makes the books mandatory. There's no option the Twitter/Bot page for a Half Super
Duper.
I haven't read all 88 pgs in this thread, so please point me to the appropriate message
if this has already been discussed.

It is super duper because you add 100 conversations to 100 books and 100 movies. I'd like to propose a new 100 items theme for the 2013 TAC.
100 items in any language
100 conversations
100 short stories
100 poems
100 novels
100 movies
100 letters
100 comics
100 non-fiction
100 sitcom episodes
100 cartoons
100 lessons
100 newspaper articles
100 lang-8 posts
100 dramas
100 soccer matches
100 essays
100 forum posts
in a foreign language of your own choosing or any combination of languages.
If a particular theme plays a big part in your language learning, divide it by language:
100 French movies
100 Italian movies
The pooper challenge counts towards the 100 items as long as the activity has been performed after Dec. 1 2012.

I like your 'pooper' challenge. You sure you're not shiomotteikiru? You sound like her.

Sounds great! I love that you included football matches:)))
Here's what I'm aiming for:
100 matches in Italian, 100 matches in Portuguese (including European), 100 matches in Slavic languages, 100 matches in misc languages
100 poems in Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Belarusian, Croatian, Romanian, 100 misc poems
100 short stories in Portuguese, Italian, Polish, Belarusian, Croatian, German
100 cartoons
100 lang-8 posts
I hope this can help me with my super challenge goals:) But I miss my pre-challenge spontaneous choices so it will be nice that my random items count for something too:) For "misc" I'll be trying to include one item in each language I have listed. Are there any cartoons in Latin?;) at least there's poetry for sure...
Given the flexibility of this challenge, watching/reading something more than once doesn't count, right? What about audiobooks/recordings of poems?
Did the challenge start on 00:00 December 1st? I've already watched one match in Italian and will hopefully watch one in Ukrainian soon. and then 2-3 more later...
edit: made a justpaste it note. I won't be making detailed lists of what I do.
