  Vokabeln lernen mit Karteikarten - aber anders!
Virtuelle Karteikarten sind toll, und es gibt jede Menge Programme dafür (Ediscio, Cobocards, B-Cards, Anki, Vokker, usw.), mal ganz davon abgesehen dass es mittlerweile unzählige Apps zum erlernen neuer Vokabeln gibt. Ich bin da etwas altmodisch und lerne lieber mit "echten" Karteikärtchen aus Papier. Aber wo aufbewahren? Wie den überblick bewahren? Ich habe eine coole Lösung entdeckt, die ich nicht geheim halten möchte. Es handelt sich um die Croco-Box 2-6-19 von HAN Bürogeräte. Zugegeben, das Ding ist etwas teuer, aber wer nicht gerade handwerklich begabt ist, um sich ein hölzernes ästchensystem zu bauen, der wird wohl an diesem Produkt viel Freude haben. Das Prinzip heisst 2-6-19 weil man an den Tagen 2, 6 und 19 die jeweilige Vokabel wiederholt. Nach dem Lernen schiebt man das Kästchen mit den Karten um eine Position in der Box weiter. Falls die Vorstellung davon etwas schwer fällt, schaut doch einfach auf die Website (dort gibt es sogar ein Video). Die Box mag zwar ca. € 25.- kosten (z.B. bei Amazon), aber sie ist sehr robust und es macht Spass damit zu lernen. Die Aufbewahrungsbox komplettiert das Set. Wer allerdings eine grössere Aufbewahrungsbox benötigt, der ist wohl mit der ULAS-Box vom Kosmopolit Verlag gut bedient, da man darin über 6000 Karteikarten aufbewahren kann. (ULAS: Universelles Lern- und Archivierungssystem, Kosmopolit-Verlag). Allerdings ist mir dieser Kasten für ca. € 70.- leider etwas teuer. While I was brushing my teeth this morning I realised that I was already thinking in Dutch! This is amazing, because it happened unconsciously. Even if I'm lagging miles behind of what I had set myself as a goal, one could say that there is already some kind of process of language assimilation taking place. How do you realise you're making progress in learning your target language? Feel free to write about your experience!  Using Skype to practise languages
I forgot to write about a nice talk I had with m32amir on Wednesday 25th. We spoke about languages, about language learning, about being a polyglot and about our knowledge. We spent a bit more than an hour speaking in German, English, French, Italian, Spanish and a bit of Portuguese. I must say that m32amir is an inspiring example for all language learners. It was a pleasure to speak to a fellow polyglot, and I'm looking forward to having the chance to speak to him again.
