Nice to see your report, Josquin! I think we'll be supporting each other with Russian and Japanese in the next year!
Best of luck to us, and to you with your other languages!

Спасибо and ありがとう, Fabricio! Let's see how far I get with my Japanese, but I'll definitely keep working on my Russian.
Lots of success to you, too!

You've made good solid progress in 2013, and I look forward to comparing notes on Buntús Cainte next year. Just think, one day we'll be able to watch TG4 without the need for subtitles, and that will simply be amazing! :) I also empathise with the dabbling, and am interested to hear how you found Old Irish in comparison with Modern Irish?

Thanks, Teango! Yes, one day I hope to be able to chat along with some old Irish fishermen and to watch nothing else but TG4, but I guess the road up to that day is still long. Anyway, I'm looking forward to being on Team Russian and Team Celts with you again.
I haven't really got far with my Old Irish yet. As I'm still a beginner in Modern Irish, I felt it would distract and confuse me too much. Old Irish has a very complex morphological system and employs lenition and eclipsis for marking case. The worst part, however, is the verbal system with distinct absolute and conjunct forms and a lot of suppletion in stems. It's sometimes impossible to recognize a verb in certain forms if you only know the infinitive.
That being said, I will definitely get back to Old Irish as soon as I've got a foundation in Modern Irish. Until then, I'll keep on ploughing through Learning Irish, Buntús Cainte, and the like. I simply love Irish and the Celtic languages in general!

TAC 2015
Hello and welcome to my new/old log for the TAC 2015! My plans and goals for the new year are as follows:
Русский
Improve my passive and active skills. Improve and broaden my vocabulary, get more at ease reading native materials. Read literature and articles in Russian. Improve speaking skills. Move from B1 to B2.
Gaeilge
Work through Learning Irish. Start reading children's literature in Irish. Move from A2 to B1.
日本語
Finish Genki 2. Work through Tobira or An Integrated Approach to Intermediate Japanese. Consolidate grammar. Broaden vocabulary. Transfer passive knowledge into active skills. Move from a low A2 to a high A2/low B1.
Other than that, I'd like to dabble in a number of languages like Ancient Greek, Korean, Hungarian, Portuguese, Danish, and Polish. Let's see what can be realized.
To a successful new year!

Hi, Captain my Captain! Good to see your log. I like your Russian goals :-) Which one of your skills is most
advanced?
Let's hope this is the year when we both have a huge success with our Russian!
And if you have some tips on what to do as an absolute beginner of Japanese, I am all ears :-)
