カノン is a typical girl's manga. It is actually a compilation of four short stories about
High School girls falling in love. I would recommend it if you're a (teenage) girl who likes cute shoujo stuff. It is easy to read though because there is furigana above the kanji so I can look up words if I need to. I personally prefer josei manga now but those don't come with furigana. What kind of manga are you looking for? I might be able to recommend something else if you don't want to read shoujo manga. 2 persons have voted this message useful | |

Yeah, not shoujo manga. I'm not really into the cute stuff. :) I could probably tolerate shounan manga if it has furigana. I guess I'm looking for something without robots or wizards, especially if I can learn some conversational Japanese from it.

kujichagulia! I didn't realize that I never replied to you. Sorry! I swear I had something typed up though. I guess I never posted it. :S
I don't read that much shounen manga by the way but if you like sports though I know there's Prince of Tennis and Slam Dunk both of which seem to be pretty popular. I'm sure there is a ton of sports manga out there. Recently I started reading Saint Oniisan (in English) and it is pretty funny. It is about Buddha and Jesus as roommates in Japan. I have to just add, that Ai Yazawa is one of my favorite manga artist out there. She writes shoujo but her characters and stories are realistic. 1 person has voted this message useful | |

Spanish Books for The Super Challenge
2. India Pasión pages, 132-232 (100 pages) 3. India Pasión pages, 232-332 (100 pages) 4. India Pasión pages, 332-449 (149 pages) 5. Colibri pages, 1-100 (100 pages) 6. Colibri pages, 100-234 (134 pages) In the time since my last update I have finished two more books in Spanish! :D I am very excited right now. India Pasión has become one of my favorite books. I just loved "seeing" the world of Anita Delgado. It was a little difficult in the beginning but by the end I enjoyed this book and part of me didn't want it to end. I might get another book by this author. Colibri is a book aimed at kids (maybe aged 9-12) so it was not too difficult to read, and I think reading it after reading India Pasión made it seem even easier to me. XD By the way, the reason India Pasión starts at page 132 is because I've already read up to that page before the Super Challenge. I figured that since I wasn't even half way done with the book I could still count it. I also started reading a bilingual English-Japanese children's book called A Place Where Sunflowers Grow. It is a children's book but there is plenty of text. There are 30 pages, and I think I'm going to read it five times to make it count as a book. This is how I'm going to read it: First in Japanese, then English and Japanese, then in Japanese while making flashcards of choice words, then again in English and Japanese, then finally in just Japanese. This post is getting a bit long, but while I'm still on the subject of books I just want to say that I also read a children's book in Chinese. The book was Melodious Songs and it is so cute. It is really easy to read too because it has pinyin over the characters and it is bilingual Chinese-English so if you don't know a word the English translation can help. I was trying to read an Italian book too but I fail at reading in Italian. Lol. This is turning into a reading/book log instead of a general log. 1 person has voted this message useful |
