I lived for three years in Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu, way back in 1966. Spent a lot of time in Montreal. Wonderful city.

Montreal is a very multilingual city. Do you have lots of opportunities to practice your Spanish, Romanian and Irish?

Right now I am in the Toronto area which is close enough to Kingston...

In the winter I will likely be somewhere in Québec unless I come to my senses and head somewhere further south.

I wonder if anyone has any experiences and stories about language learning opportunities at the Olympics?

I work in Lake Placid, New York (site of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics, and not far from Kingston, Ontario actually). Unfortunately I wasn't able to attend those Olympics because I hadn't yet been conceived, but the Olympic facilities still attract lots of athletes from all over the world, particularly from Eastern Europe. It's fantastic for those of us learning Russian!
