The problem is that there are too many dialects. Mutual intelligibility is an issue.

And if we're to believe Orwell, war is peace, so there's diglossia, too.

I don't think I could possibly answer the question. It's like asking who's the most beautiful woman in the world. There are just too many that are jaw-droppingly beautiful, and they all have unique traits to offer. The only difference is that I've met ugly women; I've never met an ugly language.

In this case, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, or perhaps I should say in the ear of the listener.

Spoken: Finnish, German, Portuguese, Polish, Icelandic, Danish
Written: Dutch, Finnish, Croatian, Hindi, Indonesian, Galician, Romanian, Esperanto (proper orthography only, especially in the last two)
Sung: Finnish, Indonesian, Italian, Belarusian, Norwegian, Swedish
If I have to choose just one it's obviously Finnish.

Similar tastes. If I had to choose one I'd say Old English but Icelandic or Finnish sound beautiful to me in the same way.

Faroese is beautiful, I agree with you. Sadly, it's also a language I don't hear very often. Where do you usually hear/see it?

I must admit that this is a strange thought to me, as my perception of whether a language is beautiful or not is completely unrelated to whether I understand it. If I find a language beautiful, it might be an incentive to learn more about it, but I don't think the language gets more or less beautiful depending on how much I learn.
