If I have to choose just one it's obviously Finnish.

I love how you sorted them into categories! And really, you consider Danish beautiful to listen to? To me this is interesting, as to my ears it's much too unclear and mumbly to be beautiful, and in my opinion Swedish is the most beautiful Scandinavian language, hands down. However, I guess I also cannot judge them quite objectively, because they make sense to me. But in any case, it's funny to see Danish on the list.

And Norwegian among the favorites when sung? That's nice!

Now you made me think of whether I could make a list and divide it in these categories, too. Let's see... though I'm afraid I'm forgetting some:

Spoken: Czech, Irish Gaelic, Italian, Slovenian, Swedish
Written: Czech, Turkish, Greek, Croatian, Ukrainian, Hebrew, Thai, Burmese, Arabic,
Sung: Czech (duh, repetitive list, much?), Turkish, Afrikaans, Italian, Croatian

...that's some of them, at least.

Faroese is beautiful, I agree with you. Sadly, it's also a language I don't hear very often. Where do you usually hear/see it?

I listen to Faroese music on YouTube (for example Handan Mjørkan) and sometimes I listen to Faroese radio/TV on kringvarp.fo.

For me it's impossible to choose one single language as most beautiful.

This is always so hard, I can't pick just one beautiful language! Here is my list of beautiful languages in no special order and including some smaller regional languages/dialects:

Spanish (Mexican Spanish is my favorite)
Italian
Sicilian
Afrikaans
Dutch (Yes, Afrikaans and Dutch do sound different)
Venetian
Swedish (particularly Gothenburg dialect, and also Skånska)
Finnish (Savo dialect is still one of my favorites)
Romanian
French
Portuguese (especially as spoken in Portugal, though Brazilian is also very nice.)
Danish
Faroese
Hindi
Marathi
Kannada

I'm sure there's a few more I've forgotten, but this list is already long enough.

It has to be Swedish. Light, melodic, vowel-heavy, and all around lovely.

I quite like Russian as well, though. For exactly the opposite reasons. :)

Some other languages like Tupi and Divehi look lovely written, but I've never heard them spoken.

I've found that languages become increasingly "transparent" to me as I get better at
them, until eventually all I hear are the emotions and information being conveyed. I
suppose each language has its characteristic flavor that remains even after mastery, but
it's very subtle and elusive. On the other hand, if I have no idea of what's being said,
even the most beautiful language is usually rendered bland and sterile to my ears.

Right now, I would probably say Japanese with French as the runner-up, though I reserve
the right to change my opinion (on a whim) at a later date. :-)

They make a bit of sense to me too, especially Swedish and Norwegian :D It took a lot of practice before Danish stopped sounding unclear/mumbly to me. But before that it took me back to the time when I spoke no German but loved its sound. Not sure what features are responsible for that - maybe the rhythm. (So I definitely agree that the appeal of a language can change depending on whether you understand it. Portuguese and Romanian have really grown on me, for example - I started as pretty neutral)
