Japanese is the prettiest language to me. Almost every language can sound awesome while
sung though. When it comess to writing, I kind of like the kana in Japanese, but some
of the kanji looks kinda ugly to me. :p I love the look of the cyrillic alphabet, but
I haven't considered learning a language that uses it yet. Perhaps someday I will...

It depends on who is speaking. For example this song is the most beautiful Italian voice
I have ever heard.Caruso

I'll unabashedly stray from the topic at hand. There is actually a foreign accent in English which I
particularly enjoyed listening to. In a trip to Cambodia around two years ago, I found out that generally
Cambodian speak English in the sweetest and most melodious manner. I suppose that this gentle manner
of speech is both cultural in nature, due to their natural politeness, and linguistic as this accent is carried
over from their native tongue.

I think this is a difficult one. There are so many languages that a beautiful, and it
does depend on who is speaking it, and what emotions it brings up. Indeed, I don't
think I've ever heard an ugly language. All languages have their own unique beauty.

I have to say that Spanish is my favourite language because that's the first foreign
language I reached any kind of fluency in, and it's such a vibrant and expressive
language. At the moment I'm learning Japanese, so that's probably the language I'm
most enthusiastic about. It's a fascinating language, as is Japanese civilisation
generally. I'd love to visit Japan one day!

However, the language I think is the most beautiful has to be Gaelic- either Irish or
Scottish. I can't explain why precisely, but it just seems to have a certain "wild-
ness" to it. It also brings up memories of my grandfather who spoke it as his first
language. When i started learning Gaelic, I could almost hear my grandfather speaking
English because he used a lot of Gaelic syntax, but I didn't know it at the time.
However, towards the end of his life he suffered from dementia and stopped speaking
English altogether, reverting to Gaelic. At least, we think it was Gaelic, none of the
family could understand him, so he might have been speaking gibberish!

It's hard to limit my answer to just a few because pretty much any language can hold my
interest and sound nice to me, but there are a few that come to mind first. I can't
really explain what it is that I like about the sound of Finnish, but lately I've
realized how much I enjoy hearing it spoken. Cantonese simply puts me in a great mood
and makes me want to start learning it - a very lively language with a
personality of its own! Arabic is what comes to my mind when I hear the word
"beautiful" - I especially like it in music. I love the sound of pretty much every
major Indian language - and as far as Hindi is concerned, I particularly like the
Marathi-influenced variety that you find Mumbai gangsters speaking in many films. And
finally, Turkish is unique to my ears and nice to hear in speech or music. Oh, and I
really like the sound of Pashto!

As for scripts... I'm a big fan of the Arabic script though I find the Urdu variety
even more beautiful. Also very noteworthy is the one used for Georgian.

Of course, a question like this one is restrained to the number of languages a person has had exposure. My particular table 'nowadays' is the one below:

- Most beautiful and powerful language to express a wide range of feelings in informal situations: English, no doubt to me!

- Most beautiful and powerful language to read and convey an inmense raw of things by means of the literature: Spanish.

- Most beautiful language to read poetry: Galician.

- Most beautiful language to 'see' the way it is written: possibly Classical Chinese, Javanese or Hindi in devanagari script, I'm not sure.
