So apparently today is the end of the world.

My goals from 31 Dec 2008:
"I think it's about time to activate my German - I've mostly been reading and listening for quite some time now. Nothing wrong with that, but I don't want to feel like a complete idiot if/when I meet native speakers and barely can keep a basic conversation. I'd like to take my other languages to the level where my German was a year ago (so, still an idiot in those... :D)." My German is better now, as is my Spanish, but other than that I still want my target languages to improve a level (whether that's from A1 to A2, B1 to B2 etc.) For most of my languages it's still a question of "getting used to it". My (passive) comprehension is way better than my active skills in any of them. I've been reviewing my Assimil courses (in four languages) for the past two-three months and when I've "finished" them, I'm up for something else (in addition TAC 2013 for Danish, Norwegian and Irish). 1 person has voted this message useful | |

My first priority is German. I have lots of extensive reading and listening lined up for myself and I'll probably throw some Skype conversations into the mix later in the year. Fortunately, there aren't any major pronunciation issues I have to worry about, so I can start reading without audio right out of the gates.
Number two on my list is getting more comfortable speaking Swedish and to keep it fresh, so as to minimize interference with German. My earlier strong focus on Swedish took its toll on my active German skills, so I'm trying to be more prudent this time around. On the side, I'll work on Danish and Norwegian. My most tangible goal is to achieve 'natural' listening in Danish, but I'm also hoping to get a solid grasp on grammar and spelling in both languages. Finally, I reserve the right to do some Japanese, if I get bored. It would be awesome if I could follow the Bananaman podcasts with only few gaps in understanding by the end of 2013. 1 person has voted this message useful | |

B2 exams for Turkish in the first quarter of 2013. The rest is gravy.

My goals for 2013 are:
Maintain my C1 French Maintain my B2 German (maybe even improve it some) Bring my Spanish to B2 (conversational fluency). Find an additional language to start and work up to a spoken A1/A2 (Looking at Swahili, Dari, and Japanese) 1 person has voted this message useful | |

Improve my Russian to a level where I can comfortably read novels and magazines and
