Hey, Jeff!
If you find yourself running out of materials at some point, be sure to check out Book2 (Danish, Norwegian). I've started taking dictation of the Danish monolingual recordings and checking myself against the lesson texts, which is turning out to be very helpful for my listening and spelling—two major weak points of mine. This seems to force my brain to treat Danish as a language of its own instead of processing it through Swedish, so maybe you would find it useful too.

This is my summary of what I did with Danish and Norwegian in 2013.
Danish spreadsheet stats:
Listening: 34.25 hours
Analysis: 5.25 hours
Total: 39.50 hours
Average: 6 minutes/day
Norwegian spreadsheet stats:
Listening: 26 hours
Reading: 0.5 hour
Analysis: 1 hour
Total: 27.50 hours
Average: 5 minutes/day
Plus ~0.5 hour on Nynorsk grammar.
Not much, I'm the first to admit that.
Media watched:
Dicte (TV series, Danish, 10 episodes)
Forbrydelsen 3:1 (TV series, Danish, 10 episodes)
Borgen (TV series, Danish, 10 episodes)
A Royal Affair (movie, Danish)
Erövraren (TV series, Norwegian, 6 episodes)
Varg Veum - Dödens drabanter (movie, Norwegian)
Varg Veum - Svarta får (movie, Norwegian)
Varg Veum: Kalde hjerter (movie, Norwegian)
Uden för kjaerligheten (movie, Danish)
Halvbroren (TV series, Norwegian, 8 episodes)
Hjem (TV series, Norwegian, 8 episodes)
Plus Bron (with a lot of mixed dialogue in Swedish and Danish), and probably something else I didn't notice in my document. Yeah, at least one round of the radio drama Sommer (the third season, 10 episodes of ~25 minutes each). As you can imagine, most of the listening hours come from watching tv/movies.
I know this isn't much.
Ambitions for 2014:
Read at least one book in each language (should be easy, I have them next to my bed).
Listen to at least one audiobook (I have six of them, thanks to dr.dk!).
Maybe start (and finish) a real course - our library carries a few.

Oops, time for a log update!
I've been very busy with other languages during the winter/spring, and of the current four challenges below, I've only taken part in two:
January: self-introduction in TL.
February: your favourite TL word.
March: a TL song.
April: a Wikipedia article in TL.
January challenge
DA
NO
Hei!
April Challenge
April has been quite a good month! Here are my short summaries of two short articles about the authors whose books I've finally started reading.
DA
NO
I've also watched some episodes of Badehotellet and Arvingerne, as well as listened to episode 23 and 24 of the radio drama Sommer.
Better than nothing!

Hej!
We’re practically at the end of TAC’14. Would you like to drop by at our Team Asgard thead and tell us how this year went for you and your Danish and Norwegian studies? The year final report is also valid for our team’s December challenge!
I hope to hear from you soon and in the meantime I wish you
Gott nytt år!

Summary of 2014
Danish spreadsheet stats:
Listening: 18.25 hours
Reading: 4.5 hours
Total: 22.75 hours
Average: 4 minutes/day
Norwegian spreadsheet stats:
Listening: 6 hours
Reading: 1.25 hour
Total: 7.25 hours
Average: 1 minute/day
Again, not much, I'm the first to admit that.
Media watched:
Badehotellet (TV series, Danish, 6 episodes)
Arvingarna (TV series, Danish, 10 episodes)
Øyevitne (TV series, Norwegian, 6 episodes)
Probably something else I didn't notice in my document (say, a couple of episodes of Hjem, plus the occasional documentary and unattentioned listening). As before, most of the listening hours come from watching tv/movies.
I did a few of the monthly challenges suggested by our captain Emme, but the only personal goal I achieved was finishing one book in each language (Tatt av kvinnen by Erlend Loe, and Kronprinsessan by Hanne-Vibeke Holst). In fact, I think those were the first books I've ever read in my two neighbour languages.
From now on, things can only get better!
The goals for 2015 remain the same as for 2014:
- Read at least one book in each language. I'll choose something more interesting. Even for a language you basically get for free, motivation helps.
- Listen to at least one audiobook.
- (Maybe start (and finish) a real course - our library carries a few.) - this is isn't important.
