Okay, I think HTLAL has officially pushed me over the edge. After reading this thread I could no longer resist the temptation to order Le Norvégien from Assimil. So for the 6WC I will be learning Norwegian starting from absolute zero -- and probably in the process learning how to discuss things like grammar and language learning in French. :-P

OK. I just registered for my first 6WC doing Japanese.
Woodsei doesn't seem to be on the list yet, so I might even have a chance :D

Unfortunately I'm going to have to withdraw from this 6 week challenge. :(
Real life has reared it's ugly head and I'm having to make some really difficult decisions about prioritizing things, so languages are going to have to take a backseat for a while.
At most I'll be able to squeeze in a few minutes here and there during the day, certainly not enough to justify participating here.
Oh well, best of luck everyone who's taking part. :)

So, tomorrow is the big day? I will be posting my progress in this thread, not twitter, is that ok? Or in my German log? I don't mind not being part of the official "competition", but having to report my progress, so to speak, will definitely help!

Try using Twitter, the stats on 6WC website are great and very useful (at least I find them really useful, it's probably the most important reason for me to take part in the challenge).
Logging hours with Twitter is not complicated and works almost flawlessly. I should mention I'm not a Twitter user except for taking part in 6WC: I set up a Twitter account only for that, even though I really don't like Twitter.

I wouldn't post in this particular thread. This is a general thread for the 6WC.
Create a log for yourself with the keyword 6WC in the title and post your progress
there if you don't want to use twitter (or use your existing language log).
I gotta say, though, that twitter makes it easy and is worth the trouble of setting up
and account to use for the challenge.

That's the course I'm using. I was hesitating because my French isn't advanced yet but so far my intermediate skills are enough.
