The greek song is actually about the crisis, not getting drunk. In fact it has some
clever lyrics, and to the point.
I was impressed by the language of Iceland, listening to their song. Some sounds are
similar to ours, which I didn't know was the case.
I also like the Malta song. Does Malta have a language of its own? It's English every
year, as far as I can remember (I'm no expert though).

Thanks for letting us know what the Greek song is about, renaissancemedi. I will
definitely try and hear it and find the lyrics.
Malta does indeed have a language of it's own. Believe it or not, it's a Semitic
language! Yes, it's related to Arabic. For the longest time I assumed it was related to
Italian as most Maltese immigrants I've met here in Canada have Italian-sounding names.

I probably have a low mind, since my favourite Eurovision memory (after Abba) is
"The skirt rip" song
I looked for the spoof(?) versions which the Wikipedia article mentions:
German - Maggie Mae
studio version
Spanish - Parchis
"It's only a Wind up" - British spoof :-)
Hey, ho, harmless fun. :-)

My all-time favorite contestant is Silvia Night from Iceland. Does anyone remember her?
She trolled the contest so badly in 2006, and from what I understand, this Greek newscaster took her seriously: Silvia Night goes crazy :)))
