Each language has its particularities...
I like how berber languages sounds and especially Taqbaylit one (pronounce : Thaq-vay-lith / in french: " kabyle ") perhaps because it's almost a b-less language, with sibilant consonants... It sounds soft :)
You can listen to Taqbaylit there :

and in others videos ( "idir" ) from the same user

I think the most important factor in a language's beauty is to be able to associate it with a appealing voice and/or face. For example, I absolutely detest the sound of Mandarin but if I were to see a video with an attractive chinese woman I would start learning it yesterday. I generally find french to be quite beautiful but I've heard people speaking in it that made me wonder why I was studying it. The reason why I like assimil so much is because of the very pleasant clear voices of the narrators. When you compare it with the people on FSI....

My favorite one is Japanese, I just love how the language sounds to my ears! I also like how Korean and Vietnamese sound.
I'm neutral on most of the other languages. I don't like how German sounds, it's too aggressive for me! |

to me (no particular order):
Canadian (Montreal/Quebec) French. It's very warm, relaxed and welcoming.
German sounds pretty serious, taking care of business, don't crash into my BMW.
Arabic sounds arguementative, but nice when women speak/sing in it.
Italian sounds very jolly and friendly.
Russian sounds like it's time to become a spy and transport nuclear weapons. ;)
Persian sounds quite soft. It also sounds very nice out of girls.
Hindi/Urdu sounds way too formal/soft and polite even when men speak it.
Punjabi sounds very tough/slang/rugged version of Hindi.
Spanish (Latin Am.) sounds very fun, time to pick up some beers, girls and tequila.
Chinese (Mandarin) just sounds confusing to me!

That's a nice collection of stereotypes about the speakers of those languages. Don't you think you're a bit biased? I mean, how can a language possibly sound like it's time to become a spy?? That makes no sense.

Okay Xtremelingo Let's go with stereotypes !
Canadians spend half of their time explaining to americans time that they are not British and the other half explaining to british they are not americans.
Hindi and Punjabi sound very good for begging...
German sounds very nazi
Italian sounds very mafioso
French sounds chauvinist
Arab sounds like it's time to put some bomb somewhere...
Hebreu sounds stingy...

I thought this thread was about what we consider the most beautiful spoken language, not outdated stereotypes (yes, I know Vilas' post was a sarcastic response).
Let's keep things civil or this will be another thread added to the 'Closed' pile. ;)
