I doubt you'll need Pimsleur after completing all of Platiquemos! Pimsleur is a far cry in terms of words learnt and achieved fluency compared to Platiquemos.

Pimsleur can only be useful for starting with the language. It is a nice introduction which will teach you pronunciation and some basic grammar. To me it was useful because it has made Platiquemos easier to start with. However, I wonder how things would have been if I had simply started with Plati right away. Learning Pimsleur took me 5 months....! Ah well, my pronunciation is alright at least ;) But indeed: once you have finished Platiquemos there is no need to learn Pimsleur because then you are fluent already. Barrons has come out with FSI Spanish level 2 on CD. I haven't seen the book to see if they re-typeset it. Barrons also has French FSI level 2 out on CD.
