How about another attempt at a team task? Maybe the observers can ask us some questions and we have to reply to them by the end of February in our target language.

I know only 3 out of 9 of us completed the last task but it's worth another shot.

I have a couple of ideas for questions. Would anyone be interested?

Yes please, that would be great, although my answers to your questions will be in Ukrainian.

I was inspired by the previous challenge so here's a list of 10 questions. Nothing too hard but I hope it won't be too boring. They should be easily answered in one sentence.

1.     What do you most often do when you're on the Internet?

2.     What was the last thing you've read about (blog, article) or listened to (podcast, radio) about?

3.     What is the biggest news story in your country right now?

4.     What was the last conversation you had about?

5.     Do you like to know what's always going on in the world or do you find news depressing/irritating?

6.     Are you a morning or a night person?

7.     What is the first thing you do when you get to work/school?

8.     How do you get to work/school and how much time does it take you?

9.     What is an absolute must-see in your city/country?

10.     What is the best thing about your city/country?

Anyone studying Polish and living in the US near a major city, should look out for a film series that's going to be touring around soon, Masterpieces of Polish Cinema presented by Martin Scorsese and Milestone films. You can watch the trailer for the series here.

I believe these have been recently restored in Poland, so there's also the very likely possibility that these will be (or already have been) showing in other countries as well.

Below is the list of films they're showing.

ASHES AND DIAMONDS (1958) Popiół i diament, 103 min, Andrzej Wajda.

AUSTERIA (1982) Austeria, 107 min, 1982, Jerzy Kawalerowicz.

BLACK CROSS (1960) Krzyżacy, 173 min, Aleksander Ford.

BLIND CHANCE (1981) Przypadek, 123 min, Krzysztof Kieslowski.

CAMOUFLAGE (1976) Barwy ochronne, 101 min, Krzysztof Zanussi.

THE CONSTANT FACTOR (1980) Constans, 91 min, Krzysztof Zanussi.

EROICA (1957) Eroica, 85 min, Andrzej Munk.

THE HOUR-GLASS SANATORIUM (1973), Sanatorium pod Klepsydrą, 124 min, Wojciech Has.

THE ILLUMINATION (1972) Iluminacja, 93 min, Krzysztof Zanussi.

INNOCENT SORCERERS (1960) Niewinni czarodzieje, 88 min, Andrzej Wajda.

JUMP (1965) Salto, 105 min, Tadeusz Konwicki.

THE LAST DAY OF SUMMER (1958), Ostatni dzień lata, 62 min, Tadeusz Konwicki.

MAN OF IRON (1981) Człowiek z żelaza, 153 min, Andrzej Wajda.

MOTHER JOAN OF THE ANGELS (1960) Matka Joanna od Aniołów, 110 min, Jerzy Kawalerowicz.

NIGHT TRAIN (1959) Pociąg, 98 min, Jerzy Kawalerowicz.

PHARAOH (1965) Faraon, 152 min, Jerzy Kawalerowicz.

THE PROMISED LAND (1974) Ziemia Obiecana. 170 min, Andrzej Wajda.

THE SARAGOSSA MANUSCRIPT (1964) Rękopis znaleziony w Saragossie, 183 min, Wojciech Has.

A SHORT FILM ABOUT KILLING (1987) Krótki film o zabijaniu, 86 min, Krzysztof Kieslowski.

TO KILL THIS LOVE (1972) Trzeba zabić tę miłość, 92 min, Janusz Morgenstern.

THE WEDDING (1972) Wesele, 107 min, Andrzej Wajda.

I borrowed the book 301 Polish Verbs from the library and using this list from Memrise, I've added the
remaining verbs and the perfective form. If anybody is interested you can download it in tab separated format from here:

Well, here goes nothing :) Oto moje opowiedzi po polsku:

1. Ostatnio, kiedy surfuję internet, spędzam czas w stronie na temat nauki języków
obcych.

2. Ostatnia rzecz, że preczytałem był Spider-man komik. :)

4. Ostatnia conwersacja był z moim córkę - ona idzie do łóżka a jej mówię Dobranoc.

7. Kiedy przyjadę w pracy, przede wszystkim zdejmuję płaszcz.

8. Jeżdżę do pracy samochodem. Czas jest około 20 minuty.

I'll allow myself to correct you a bit.

1. Ostatnio, kiedy surfuję w internecie/w sieci, spędzam czas na stronach dotyczących nauki języków.
2. Ostatnią rzeczą, którą przeczytałem, był komiks Spider-man.
4. Ostatnia konwersacja/rozmowa była z moją córką - ona idzie do łóżka, a ja jej mówię: "dobranoc" (or in the past tense: ona szła do łóżka, a ja powiedziałem jej: "dobranoc").
5. Czasami życzę sobie, żebym częściej widział/oglądał newsy/wiadomości, ale zawsze jestem zbyt zajęty. Niestety, nigdy nic nie wiem (double negation, congrats ;) )
7. Kiedy przyjeżdżam do pracy, przede wszystkim [= above all; na początku = at the beginning] zdejmuję płaszcz.
8. Jeżdżę do pracy samochodem. Trwa to około 20 minut.

There are many ways to express the content of these sentenc,es so don't be surprised, if someone would translate it differently ;)

Thanks, prz_! I figured that there were a lot of errors, but I'm trying not to lean too
much on dictionaries and/or google translate. I appreciate the help!

Doceniam pomoc!
