The German group found a song in German to learn/translate a song. That might be an interesting challenge for February :)

I did that challenge and it was actually very nice!
Side note: January has been a crazy, busy month for me so I wasn't able to drop by your logs. I should be able to catch up in the next few days, though.

Hey everybody!
I just wanted to say that I'm now following all of your logs :)
I'll try to keep up with you as much as possible, but keep in mind that I joined 5 different teams this year so if you need a quick answer feel free to send me a PM.

Great, I might be inclined to write a bit more Italian in my log!
Judging by how active the team has been in the last month, keeping up with all the logs might not be as much effort as it seems ;)

It looks like I'll be staying around a bit ... is there room to move from Observer to Team Member?
I even have a song! With many variations: Con Te Partiró
I used to love dancing to Donna Summer's dance version (I Will Go With You (Club 69 Future Remix)). It's been easy for me to learn the future tense in Italian, since I had heard it sung so many times.
I'm convinced the dj's used to mix in Andrea Bocelli singing in Italian, but I can't find that online anywhere. I actually thought that Donna Summer was singing in Italian too ... but I might have been confused by all the shiny lights and lasers bouncing off the disco ball.
On to the lyrics. Here are three flavors of the opening, in Italian, English, and Disco.
Original
Quando sono solo e sogno all'orizzonte
e mancan le parole
si lo so che non c'è luce
in una stanza quando manca il sole
se non ci sei tu con me, con me
su le finestre
mostra a tutti il mio cuore
che hai acceso chiudi, dentro me
la luce che hai incontrato per strada
Con te partirò paesi che non ho mai
veduto e vissuto con te
adesso si li vivrò
Con te partirò su navi per mari
che io lo so no, no, non esistono più
con te io li vivrò
English
When I'm alone
I dream on the horizon
and words fail;
yes, I know there is no light
in a room where the sun is absent,
if you are not with me.
At the windows
show everyone my heart
which you set alight;
enclose within me
the light you
encountered on the street.
I'll go with you,
to countries I never
saw and shared with you
now, yes, I shall experience them.
I'll go with you
on ships across seas
which, I know
no, no ,exist no longer;
with you I shall experience them.
Disco
Stranded alone on a sea of emotion
You found me
Your love was a light
In the darkness that shone
So profoundly
Say that you'll stay
Do not be afraid, afraid
You, you're my breath
The air I breathe
You are my imagination
Su le finesse
Song of my heart
Secrets I'm not afraid to whisper
Con te partiro
I'll go where you lead me
Wherever you are
(forever and ever we'll stay)
In love together
I will go with you
I'll go where you lead me
Forever true
(forever and ever we'll stay)
In love together

I stumbled on a couple of online resources hosted by the University of Texas in Austin including Radio Arlecchino which you may find handy for getting a second opinion in some topic in Italian grammar that's bugging you.

Wow, thank you! I definitely need to improve my grammatical accuracy, but I find most traditional materials insanely boring.
